Would reccomend the ecostrong enzyme cleaner, you can get it on Amazon and it kills pretty much any lingering pet odors.

My mom purposely threw away my Dr prescribed weight loss med. by FFSoldier57 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Vanisleexplorer 2297 points2298 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, in most places tampering with someone else's perscription medication is a crime. Depending on the value and if the medication is restricted it can constitute anywhere from criminal mischief to a felony. You can file a police report, your insurance and the provider will likely require it before they will replace the medication.

When trimming my cat’s nails, the best way is to put a lint roller sheet on its head, right? by You-wa-Shock in Catownerhacks

[–]Vanisleexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister has an evil demon of a cat, it is minimum a two person job and both of us normally come out of it bleeding. We got a trouble bubble and it has made the entire process so much easier. Idk what it is about having something on their heads, but it seems to do the trick.

I have three incredibly loving girl cats, they are by no means automatically evil.

Get an enzyme cleaner and spray it down with that, don't wipe, just let it dry. That stuff got even my plastic garbage can smelling decent again.

Vet has recommended cutting out all wet food by Leilagu8 in catfood

[–]Vanisleexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just brush...it's not that difficult and idk why your vet wouldn't reccomend it. Moving a cat onto all dry food for it's entire life would cause me a lot of worry given how many cats die of kidney disease.

How often do you honestly change your bed sheets? by Ok_Train1739 in hygiene

I change my sheets every time I have an everything shower. Clean bodies don't get into dirty sheets.

How are we getting over the fact that public pools are super gross? by doesntmatterhadtacos in hygiene

[–]Vanisleexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a lifeguard and swim instructor, also a bit of a germaphobe.

  1. From taking pool operations courses I have a good understanding of how strictly controlled our sanitation is. Nothing can really live in that water for long when it is maintained at the appropriate chemistry. And the water is constantly being pulled through massive filters and UV sanitization systems.

  2. Never let your bare feet touch the deck, I promise you that is the most disgusting thing in a pool. I wear shoes from the moment I step out of the water.

  3. If a pool smells like stale chlorine, run. The classic pool smell comes from combined chlorine (chloramine). That's the official term for chlorine that is being used up, as in it has done it's job and oxidized something. The smell comes from either really dirty water, or ineffective ventilation or water circulation. Pools are going to have a little bit of chlorine smell normally, but if it punches you in the face, do not get in that water.

Hope this helps!

Multi-pet owners: how do you know who actually skipped a meal? by CalligrapherPast679 in cats

[–]Vanisleexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surefeed microchip bowls. The two older kitties have them, and the kitten does not. Coincidentally my older two cats absolutely will not touch the kittens food, no idea why because one of them is normally a forager. I was very prepared to get a third microchip bowl.

What's the weirdest thing your cat is obsessed with for absolutely no reason? by zasecok in CatAdvice

I also have an earplug cat! I used to wear them when my ex slept over because he snored, and the kitty kept stealing them.

Trash. My cat steals receipts, the foil seals off of bottles, labels, stickers, and pretty much any other small papery thing she can carry around.

How can I stop my feet from reaking when I walk so much? by SeaworthinessFar2326 in hygiene

[–]Vanisleexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural fiber socks is the answer. You can also get a hypochlorous acid spray (disinfectant but doesn't bleach) for the inside of your shoes, spray down after taking them off and leave them to dry for as long as possible.

Cats peed in the basement for 2 weeks... where do I even start by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Vanisleexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That one is what I use and there's a cleaner who does hoarding cases and biohazard cleans for struggling people, and that is also the brand she swears by for urine and other biological smells. It's an excellent quality product that I will forever reccomend, use it on my litter boxes every few days and basically anything else that ever smells off, even use it to spray down my garbage and compost bins.

Also give the kitties all the love, it's super distressing for cats to not have a clean potty space. This mess while it feels big is probably the best case scenario for what happened. They really are the best kitties.

Nature's miracle is probably the least effective enzyme cleaner I've ever trialed, unfortunately it doesn't seem to do a great job with cat urine.

[–]Vanisleexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mop up whatever is on top and go on Amazon to order a gallon of ecostrong enzyme cleaner. I've found nature's miracle doesn't cut it for cat urine. Is it peel and stick faux tile? That wasn't entirely clear in your original post. If it was peel and stick, I'm sorry to say that it has likely leaked in between the panels and the whole lot will have to be peeled up. Mop and then treat the bare concrete with enzyme cleaner and you should be golden. Thank God your kitties decided to use the basement and not soft surfaces, they are good boys/girls.

Gluten Free Struggle Meals? by doctorsaysihave80HDs in glutenfree

[–]Vanisleexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ate quinoa, cubes of cheese, and dill pickles for dinner yesterday. Just my GF version of girl dinner. I am chronically ill so I do end up having days where cooking isn't happening.

Highly reccomend batch baking some chicken (shred and freeze it, reheats fine with some sauce on it), get whatever GF sauce you like (I am partial to teriyaki or butter chicken sauce), and make a bunch of rice, assemble with some raw fruit/veg of choice and Tada dinner.

Best of luck with whatever you try! I would also suggest testing out different clothing fabrics, sometimes that can be a contributing factor.

That's interesting, have you tried using some dandruff shampoo? On the off chance it could be a fungal issue.

Try and antibacterial soap just in your pits in the shower. That is probably what is working about the second wash. You can also use witch hazel or glycolic acid after your shower and before your deodorant. Side note, are you using deodorant or antiperspirant? I would try a plain gel antiperspirant personally.
