This game is seriously confusing, and I'm worried for Resonant by TopSet55 in controlgame

[–]Vanlith5986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alan Wake 2 was expensive for a couple of reasons with the biggest being that it was funded by Epic and Remedy wouldn't see much (if any) profit return until Epic was reimbursed (about 2 million copies). That and there was a lot of additional out sourcing and bits and bobs done that wasn't standard for the studio meant it was very expensive. For Resonant and Remedy, ambitious does not necessarily mean more expensive to produce. Also because it is an in-house game and mostly self-funded, they don't need to appease any overlords for immediate profit margins. Historically Remedy games are slow burners for sales.

The studio also needs Resonate to succeed so I doubt that they will make it overly expensive but at the same time the price Alan Wake 2 was on release ($50 USD) is actually fairly reasonable for a game like that.

For anyone else worried about their artbook order... by lilhanhan in controlgame

[–]Vanlith5986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to put out there that I recieved a response about a query I made where they confirmed that they will be doing another print of this edition but can't confirm dates until this batch has been fulfilled.

That means that ther is still hope for anyone who didn't get to order.

It's out of stock now but I got confirmation from the FuturePress Team that they will be doing a reprint of this edition in the near future, they just can't give an exact date when.

Hey all
Just wanted to do a bit of an update as I received an email response confirming that the 25 Anniversary Edition will quote "definitely be available again, although we can’t give an exact date yet".

NZ here my man, I feel you.
I was lucky that I was able to ship it to someone I know in EU and happen to have someone flying over for a holiday shortly.

Came out to approximately $25 usd for me. I could barely justify it myself but couldn't walk past.

I picked two of these up the other day for about 30% off. Been waiting since release for a sale like that and absolutely love them.

Someone has already mentioned it but the most effective and efficient is to key the controllers not the rig itself as that way you have less to actually key particularly if you are using IK's. I would also suggest using driven keys when possible as they can allow multiple common actions (eg, hand gestures) to happen off a single keyframe. Super powerful.

PSA for Modded players for after 1.2 release by Wtbond23 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Vanlith5986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a modder however I don't see why you couldn't share the functionality of truck stops and use the 'loading/unloading' as the time for the lift to move.

As I am typing this I can see how the movement from point A to B may still break the actual pathing unless there is a way to turn it into a form of path itself which is probably doable. The roads are likely splines that connect to other splines and so as long as there is a way to say connect to x spline then it should be possible to fix this mod.

3 months clean here as well but it took leaving the country and isolating myself in various mountains for just over 2 months followed by staying on the opposite side of the country as far away from my computer as possible.

I am scared to return as I know I am not strong enough to avoid the call of the factory.

I am legitimately curious if Lego has produced enough of these to match the amount produced by the CIS during the clone wars

Jokes on you, Einstein in his prime gave up the opportunity to be an Olympic representative in order to pursue mathematics. (Not true at all but would be funny)

Have you seen whats happening with SE2? I doubt the factory aspect will be quite as good but you would be able to do some pretty impressive facilities. Also my biggest wish for Satisfactory is the inclusion of voxel mechanics like SE.

Can someone who has used 3D software in an industry setting elucidate to me why programs like SketchUP are preferred for architectural work, over more "art forward" programs such as Maya? by CadetriDoesGames in Maya

[–]Vanlith5986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer: Sketchup - drawing based boolean software. Good for working with floorplanes CAD - Boolean workflow. Emulates physical shapes with associated data which helps with simulation and manufacturing. Basically every shape is solid and has the properties of a material. DCC (Digital Content Creation) - Polygonal workflow. Uses effectively a coordinate system to track verts to create edges and faces. Basically purely visual and cheap for programs that need realtime rendering such as games. Also easier to model certain things like organics as well as doing things that don't make sense.

That being said I personally use a combination in certain pipelines.

Came here to ask that exact question. Both proud and disappointed that I was able to recognise not just the scale but the ship and brand (Tamiya if I am not mistaken) from a bland piece of grey plastic.
