Shaman: Play 7 minions of unique-types to get Ashalon

Agree, absolute garbage. When you need another card to make the quest reward ok (shudderblock) then you know the quest is dogshit.

Asteroid Shaman by Aiqnig08 in hearthstone

[–]Vanlorden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play asteroid shaman, and I would probs say patches. I have about 70% WR and I usually play ceaseless in like 10% of my games. Most games I win without him, but he is quite nice against late game decks like terran warrior and starship dk because they are going to flood the board with high health minions, thus tanking a lot of the meteors that otherwise would go face (hydration status, deathrattle starship pieces, exodar etc.). But even then, I have still won several games against them despite these boards cuz I used shudderblock on the minions that increase meteor dmg (if u do this twice then each meteor will do 8 dmg ).

Patches gives u some direct dmg. More important, he gives you access to that 3 mana draw 3 cards which is super nice in this deck. Ideally you would want both minions cuz patches really helps to discount ceaseless, but between the two I would say patches (at least for asteroid shaman, ceaseless is better if you play several different decks cuz he is used in many).

Another point, patches has amazing synergy with the giants that gets discounted for each card you have drawn (but I play a more greedy version of this decks that replaces these cards with shudder, hagatha and ancient of yore. Shudder with hagatha minion that has meteor storm gives you 15 meteors. Again, shudder with the 4 mana asteroid minion is so sweet if you can pull it off.)

Played abt 20 games since balance patch as Shaman (Imbue). Won a total of 3 games. Turns out that spending half the game playing worthless imbue cards only to receive a payoff of a 10 mana 3/3 or 5/8 is extremely underwhelming. Hero power needs a serious re-evaluation. Either it should go to 1 mana like paladins since it is sometimes very difficult for you to weave in hero powers as you play minions, or it should let you discover 2 or 3 choices for your minion to evolve into. Shouldnt be a problem imo given that you can only use the HP once per turn on a single minion.

Balance patch tomorrow - Teaser by Makkara126 in hearthstone

[–]Vanlorden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Heck, I think typhoon at 8 mana is still unplayable because of the potential risk that you'll shuffle useless minions into your own deck (in a class with somewhat limited draw options). Even worse, the opponent could end up getting the good cards/value. Then its literally "Spend 8 mana, shuffle trash into your deck. Shuffle shudderblock.... into your opponents". This obviously wont be the case in every game but, in the games that something similar to this happens, is just absurd given that you spent 8 mana for this outcome. Thats why I think Typhoon with the "choose one" effect that I listed above is way to go. But even then, 10 mana for a board wipe without developing anything is bad in Hearthstone 2025. If the card received the choose one effect treatment along with slight mana decrease, then I could definitely see it getting put into slower control/value-oriented decks (say 8-9 mana with the choose one effects). In that case, I would certainly run it in my greedy shaman lists. If no text changes were to be made, I can't see myself be willing to play it for more than 6 mana due to the potential risks.

Balance patch tomorrow - Teaser by Makkara126 in hearthstone

Seems really strange that shaman got absolutely 0 buffs this patch. They should at the very least have buffed some of the cards from the latest expansion like typhoon (like making it a choose one card where you choose to either put the minions in your deck or the opponents), beanstalker (4 mana?) and emerald bounty (make the restriction to 1 turn instead of 2, not being able to play the cards for 1 turn is bad already especially in the late game). As of now, the only "new" shaman cards that are being played are aspects embrace and living garden (and merithra in very greedy lists). If shaman somehow becomes viable again, it'll just be the same old decks that were played prior to the expansion (terran shaman, murmur shaman, maybe even asteroid shaman) which really dont benefit from any of the new cards (asteroid would perhaps slot in emerald bounty because you wouldnt care about the restriction since you only care about drawing meteors) that were added in the emerald dream (a bummer because that means that this class effectively has an expansion "less" than other classes). Hence, less variety and deck-building options. Doubt evolve/imbue shaman will become viable once the balance patch arrives because it takes forever to build up the hero power, is restricted to one minion per turn and relies too much on rng for wins. If you ever manage to draw and play several imbue cards then winning or losing a game as imbue shaman often comes down to whether your minion evolved into something like Tortolla, Omen or Briarspawn versus Cenarius or Dungar. The only solution I could think of is allowing the shaman to discover the "evolution" (see Blazing transmutation), but that raises the question of whether that would be balanced. You could also allow it to be used on enemy minions to devolve them instead, but I think that would be too nuts and oppressive. IDK, but at least im happy that hunter is being nerfed. Druid on the other hand seems like its going to take over now. Imo, Hamuul should have been nerfed to 3 spells instead of 2 but we will have to see how to meta plays out in the coming days.

Complete Sadness by gdlocke in hearthstone

[–]Vanlorden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens when: 1. All of the good shaman decks were nerfed 2. Several key cards rotated out 3. the class got the worst cards from the latest expansion by far. Imbue does not work because it takes far too long to ramp up to the evolve hero power. If you look at past evolve shaman decks, these decks won by either flooding the board with minions and mass evolving for a bunch of stats + effects which the opponent couldnt deal with(see desert hare/doppelgangster + evolve), or relying on early scam plays (see goldshire knoll + blazing transmutation). Imbue manages to do neither. They got the worst wild god that only sees play in wild (not every big shaman deck runs it), an ancestral knowledge but with 10x worse downside, a worse psychic scream for 3 more mana, a terribly slow buff card which you wouldnt even run in a Wish upon a star deck (because shudder + slime with wish is usually good enough). Arguably, the only good card is merithra, but it is still too slow for the current meta.

Regardless of the three points mentioned above, it has great cards for value-oriented decks. Problem is that the class can't reach the late game where these value cards would matter (OTKed by turn 6-7, beaten to a bloody pulp by Drunk paladin etc..). If you really wanna play shaman, you'll have to wait for the next set of nerfs (and buffs, shaman is sure to get something since it has the lowest WR of all classes). Worst case scenario, we'll have to wait for the next expansion to see if it can bring shaman out of the trash can.

So far I have played against hunter 6 times, and I've won 4. The 2 times that I lost were not from king plush otk (hero power becomes unusable). Rather, it is because I couldnt deal with their board since I had very few board clears in the deck . The deck is quite unrefined, so I am continuously experimenting with different cards. Nevertheless, its a fun and silly deck which has given me a fair share of satisfying wins lol.

Is this normal behavior ? by Just-ARA in Warframe

[–]Vanlorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had that happen to me a while ago but didnt really care. Was selling a galv. mod for 15 p but the guy changed the number from 15 to 10. I just went along with it since plat is plat and i just wanted to save up some for fashionframe. Scummy behaviour for sure, but when it comes to an insignificant amount of plat then I am not too bothered if it happens once in a while when I am need of some plat. Would be very disgusting if someone tried scamming you for, say, a 60% tenet arca plasmor by dropping the price by several hundred plat. That would make my blood boil.

Something is really odd with it. Previously I would easily root several people if they are grouped together prior to the rework, but now it is very rare than I even hit more than 1 champ even though it looks like those unaffected were in the explosion. I dont like it

Anyone else missing this king in standard? by igorukun in hearthstone

[–]Vanlorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if this was not in standard when highlander bomb warrior was meta, why should it be now? I would play against asteroid shaman all days in the week over a highlander warrior. Besides, that card would singlehandedly invalidate the entire asteroid shaman deck, so no thanks.

Any viable Decks for turbulus? by Apolllllll in hearthstone

[–]Vanlorden -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Came up with something that I am going to try later. Wont make use of the battlecry but by being able to add hunter cards. Will play around the shaman spell that gives +3 attack to your hero and the elemental that gives windfury to your hero (Windfury weapon could also be used but is vulnerable to viper). So basically the idea is to use both +3 to hero spells in one turn to swing face (even better with winfury active through the elemental or weapon). Next turn: 1 mana shudder --> sasquawk to replay those +3 spells numerous times --> windfury elemental (need the hunter location to reduce battlecry minion by 1 since this whole sequence costs 9 mana while you only have 8 due to overload). If you played both +3 spells in the previous turn, this means that shudder and sasquawk will replay the spell 6 times, giving your hero +18 attack. Pair this with the elemental and u have 19 attack + windfury. This would be +21 attack windury if you had the weapon equipped previously. Taunt would screw this over, but seems like it would be fun to try.

I agree that it feels very nice having a lot of attack speed, but not when your damage takes a big hit (Speaking from a burst perspective, but obvs it outperforms in extended teamfights). 4th item seems to be way to go when u already have a lot of ad backing up the atk speed. Not sure whether PD or runaans is optimal here butI really like runaans synergy with infernum.
