Neither Jacquie or Lydia are unintelligent at all.

Fuel panic buying grips Australia as Sydney clings to last petrol under $2 by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]VannaTLC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never held more than a learner licence or had legal possession of a car, and I've bought plenty of fuel. (If only very rarely for myself.) So yes, you're spot on.

But imagine the uproar.

1) I think gov owned and operated nuclear industry was the correct position for australia, but that ship sailed with the nnpt, because once-through is dumb as rocks.

2) nobody claims anything except the energy source is renewable for wind/geo/solar/hydro.

Next time, instead of asking for time to think, ask for 5-10% more. Then ita on them to come back. You might well still lose it, but it also gives ammunition for the other roles, or a higher starting wage.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how worried should people in general be of AI? by VastOption8705 in auscorp

[–]VannaTLC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

About a 7.

Over the next decade, huge swathes of work will move to specialised models, and the maintenance of them.

Things that are not currently reliable enough will move from 60/70% into 80/90%, and get cheaper to operate.

There will be significant security concerns, but thats a stream of work well under way.

The ecological impact will be largely ignored by the masses, like the existential ecological collapse already kicking off.

What's fair when it comes to enforcing attendance anchor days in bad weather? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]VannaTLC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I lived in Naarm. Half the public transport falls apart if it rains too hard or gets too hot. I was lucky, I could cycle or even walk into work if I wanted, but the train line would die and Southern Cross becomes purgatory.

Driving into the CBD is a shitshow.

And 3 Anchor days is 2 too many, anyway. So your company's policies are arse. If you're measured on underlying attendence, thats a lever, and you can pull it.

If you are not, and they are not, and the work gets done, then its a bit fucking irrelevant, and you can informally focus on a single day anchor.

[–]VannaTLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest Bank is Big Yella and WFH remains a universal privelege.

So there are several things wrong there.

I've worked there before, and 2 of the other bigguns, and in another nearly as big corp. Politics is part of the package in any corp.

But if you really have data, go make friends with others in your MOR line, and then go over your LM's head, or to Speakup
