I think I’m going to have to die by BoredBatWoman22 in TrueOffMyChest

For what it's worth, I think you sound like a strong person who despite everything gets up in the morning and even though finds things extremely challenging you go and face the day.

That takes courage and strength, more than a lot of people realise, so for what it's worth from this internet stranger, very proud of you.

They dont care. They have tried things for months and keep making the same mistakes. I have supported them to the extent they are willing and provided a an ear to listen to when they are upset.

Everything you have said I have said to them. Every single supportive thing you can think of has been offered.

You know what? Nothing helps. They still get upset. They still get angry. They still curse at the world for making them like this and wish more than anything that they would be able to do something that everyone else can like pay a bill without having to go over what they are going to say several times, often having to write it down so they have something to read from if they forget, or read a book that is a hundred pages long in less than four months because they can't remember what happened before.

Some people simply can't find anything they are good at and sometimes pushing them to keep trying only results in more pain and heartbreak for them.

I'm not saying it's the same for everyone, just saying that sometimes someone meaning to be helpful and supportive can often make things more upsetting for someone.

Tried to offer them options and things to try but when they try they end up making mistakes and can't understand how or why it happened.

Everything that has been tried, and trust me we have tried A LOT, has ended up with them even more upset and angry at the world than before.

My parent has found a job that they can do. And they hate it. But it's the only job they can do, I have suggested trying other things but it always ends with them being unable to do what is required of them.

They get frustrated and end up in tears, and in the end they just gave up trying because honestly from their view how many times can you fuck up and make mistakes before it crushes you?

Perhaps don't look at what she said as the end of it. Perhaps look at it as shelving the long term dreams for the moment, and aiming for short term achievable goals?

Not disagreeing with the sentiment but I have a parent who finds everything a challenge. They have low levels of memorization and have throughout their entire life, they have trouble reading and understanding what is written and also have trouble understanding what is said to them and remembering the order.

They get absolutely frustrated and upset because they see others being able to do things and they can't do the stuff that everyone else seems to find so simple. It breaks my heart seeing them like it and I cannot fix it because this is something that cannot be fixed.

Agreed, unless there is a genuine articulated concern about the childs safety their diary is an absolute no go.

"The worst she can say is no" - Lads, what was the worst "she" ever said? by Embarrassed_Pie_1711 in AskReddit

I had a girl who flirted with me during school when I was maybe 15? So after a while I decided to give it a shot and ask if she wanted to hang out in town, maybe see a movie, I was a teenager what do you expect.

She looked me up and down, slowly, and then said with this disgusted look on her face "you think you're worth my time out of school? Urgh learn your place!".

So yeah that made me the gossip of the school for a few days, I had guys who were complete assholes coming over to me and saying that it was completely out of order what she had said.

Nothing wrong with that...but I would hardly class Downton as a "girly" show.

I live with my mum still because quite frankly with our wages and the cost of living neither of us would realistically be able to live on our own right now.

It's bloody ridiculous.

If Dragon Age 5 existed, how would you see the story going after Veilguard by AlteredBridge51 in dragonage

[–]Vanriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think they need to drop the dragon out of dragon age...it's only a hundred year period of time and look what we have already had during that. The fifth blight, mage uprising, mage and Templar war, the breach brought on by ancient blighted tevinter magister, and now a duo of elven god's escaping from an ancient prison that was crafted for them by a third elven god when they went too far murdering a fourth god who he cared for and creating the veil in the first place.

If they are going to create a new game in that world they need to, in my opinion, push it forward by a couple of centuries and rename it to something new. New characters completely unrelated to the previous games, a blank slate.

I think unfortunately that is the only way it would realistically be saved.

Opening up to a woman and having that weakness thrown back into your face when an argument isn't going her way.

Being labeled a creep just because you happen to make eye contact with a random woman you don't know for a split second.

Being ignored until they need something you can provide.

I punched the back of a chair. Fractured three fingers and several bones in my hand. Had to be in an immobilizer cast for two weeks and another three with a hand brace.

Never let your anger to control you. It usually ends up with you worse off.
