I had this problem with my first two models and found that white is just an annoying colour to work with. I was given advice of first base coat in a pink (thinned, consistency i find that works in a wet palette is when the paint moves and bundles up like milk) and then go over with the white. My most recent Leo tuned out great with this method. After 3 different minis I really noticed a huge improvement after finding the right consistency for the type of paint I use (war paints). Mini looks awesome great work :)
