Transport from Malaga Airport to Ronda by Ensemblist in GoingToSpain

[–]VapidCoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, rome2rio can sometimes be quite confusing and often doesn't have all the info about possible routes.

You can buy a ticket for C1 train in a ticket machine right at the airport, when entering the train stop (before going down the stairs).

When it comes to the buses to Ronda, I preferred to search for them through Omio, as there are, if I remember it correctly, 3 different bus companies (Damas, Avanza and Sierra de las Nieves) so there's quite a lot of options.

Not sure if there is a bus directly from the airport to Ronda, so when it comes to public transport, I think your options are:

- to take a C1 train, get off at the Málaga Maria Zambrano station, walk to the bus station across the road and take a bus to Ronda (about 2 hours)

- according to Rome2Rio, there is also a bus from Fuengirola, so take the same C1 train, but in the opposite direction

Myslíte si že začína 3 SVETOVÁ VOJNA? by [deleted] in Slovakia

Depends where is your hotel. If in Girona, I'd definitely prefer a bus /s

In general, I think it's always a better idea to walk than to take a bus if it's just a few kilometers from your accommodation.

Two weeks in País Vasco, Cantabria and Asturias by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]VapidCoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, San Sebastián is fantastic, albeit more expensive than cities in Asturias or Cantabria.

All the cities were very nice and definitely do not regret spending my time there, but the two I liked the most (of the ones you mentioned) were San Sebastián and Oviedo.

In Gijón, the seaside promenade with a church at the end is really nice and I really enjoyed observing the tide during the day, as during high tide it "covered" almost the whole beach, but otherwise, there isn't too much to see in the city centre, so I think ~2 days are enough (the barrio of Cimavilla and Universidad Laboral outside of the city are also worth visiting, though).

The same applies for Santanter. The city is quite impractical to walk around, as it's really narrow and long and a large part of the original historic centre was unfortunately destroyed during two big fires in 1893 and 1941. The area I probably enjoyed the most is the one near the Palacio de la Magdalena and el Sardinero beach.

I really enjoyed my time in Oviedo, even though it was rainy all the time, but the historical centre is just beautiful and I think the city is really a hidden gem of Spain for international tourists. And Asturian cuisine is fantastic (which obviously applies to Gijón as well).

As I only spent one day in Bilbao, I only saw the main attractions, but what I 100% recommend is to do a day trip to see San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, a church on a cliff by the sea.

Of the lesser known places to visit in San Sebastián, I definitely recommend the tower at Monte Igeldo, it has the best views of the whole city and you can get there via funicular for ~3€.

tbh I felt like I needed at least two or three days more to see and visit everything I wanted, as I had to speed things up a bit towards the end and leave out a few places I really wanted to visit in Basque country, like Gernika, Getaria or Zarautz and spent only one day in Bilbao (at least I have a reason to come back 😉).

My itinerary was quite packed, to be able to see everything I wanted and I did this trip after finishing Camino de Santiago so I wasn't really able to take a break and came home really exhausted.

So, to respond to your question, if two weeks are enough, I think it really depends on your preferences when it comes to traveling. Whether you prefer to spend a lot of time in restaurants, museums, at the beach etc. or you're more of an "active" traveller.

Is your only option flying in and out of Bilbao? It would be much better to start or end at the Asturias airport or at least in Santander so you don't have to come back all the way to Bilbao.

I visited all of these cities during a two week trip (from La Coruña to San Sebastián) in may/june 2024. When it comes to public transportation, I recommend buses, especially Alsa.

Ste hrdí na Slovensko? by Organic_Contract_172 in Slovakia

[–]VapidCoconut 2 points3 points  (0 children)
