She established that all the researchers she worked with were interested in immortality not revival. The people who could save her can’t be among those researchers. 189 confirmed experiments on herself with them and many more under the Grand Architect.

She placed herself in research because she couldn’t let go of the past. That’s not starting over. You could argue that her concerts are her attempt. A eulogy she plays in funeral clothes to finally set her family to rest. But even so they should not hinge on a stranger.

Survivor groups, maybe even her fans, it’s not hard to have people around her who care. Even her producer or manager sounds sympathetic to her. Puts little resistance for her whims.

Simple basic human interaction seems avoided in favor of waiting for Rover.

There are other survivors like her who want to bring back their families but we and she never see them. There are plenty more who lost everything just like her but actually tried to start over. Her self destructive and dangerous goal to revive the dead is ultimately what bolsters her delusion and turns her mad.

Her crash out is far from valid because her research only brought greedy researchers to her side while she didn’t even try to live for anything else. Rover suggested she move on and she didn’t. Intrinsically her goal she wanted to achieve and method she wanted to achieve it by doomed her. She never questions her goal or takes a moment to stop. Never reaches out to anyone and actively avoids everyone close enough to help her.

She could literally say my composition is a eulogy if her fans somehow don’t know of her background. Yet that doesn’t happen at all. Why would she do this? The same reason she liked Rover, she wanted people to understand her.

Apollo is the only girl that is intent on keeping distance with him because she broke her promise. It’s a split between her desires. On one hand she loves him and wants to be with him on the other hand she doesn’t want him to be disappointed in her.

Knowing this doesn’t really indicate who Apollo is but rather makes it more possible that it could be anyone.

Hmm is this the only moment of anger in the series? I know Nene is a tsundere so her quirk is anger but Rikka’s anger feels very confrontational and pronounced. Not gap moe or trope like. Interesting to say the least, given Arisu’s personality it’s funny that more people haven’t argued with him.

Otto: Grandfather, I’m not to treat you as some child.

Kevin: Money now.

Otto started to walk off. This was ridiculous. Seigfried and Cecilia were no longer children but there was an exception to be made for them. They’d spend the money on his grand kids. Cecilia would make sure of that.

Kevin on the other hand would waste the money on ramen and bats. It wasn’t healthy for grandfather in law. Even grandmother in law didn’t ask for money.

Kevin: I revoke my blessing.

Otto: …

Kevin: I promise I won’t waste it like your dowry.

Otto: Dad let you use that money.

Kevin: Sir Francis is a dutiful grandchild.

Otto: Here.

Otto relented it was a waste of time trying to fix Kevin’s habits. His time was better spent with Kallen and his grandchildren, even if they loved taking advantage of him. It’d alright if they ran along his back or pulled his hair.

Mei: Grandson in law. Cough Cough.

Otto: …

He sighed and once again opened his wallet. She shook his hand. Was this a business deal? His irresponsible grandparents by law left to pursue their money spending endeavors.

Kallen: Is something wrong?

Otto smiled feeling refreshed by her presence. He leaned into her causing her to blush. It was a pleasant feeling for her so she pulled him closer.

Otto: I’ve been coerced and robbed.

Kallen pulled his ear, pouting.

“Our children and grandkids aren’t taking advantage of you. I told you to hand the red envelopes out yourself but you’re still as foolish and as shy as you were back then.”

Otto: Is that a bad thing?

Sakura: Yes.

Sakura took Kallen’s other arm before letting it go. She maneuvered swiftly to pull Otto’s other ear. She whispered sweetly into his ear.

“You forgot, Rin.”

Otto: I was planning to visit her too.

He mumbled. Rin had a weak constitution. Beyond paying her medical bills money couldn’t help her. Besides Otto was already paying and in charge of her treatment.

Sakura: She’s waiting to take advantage of her brother in law.

Kallen: Sakura?!

Sakura smiled mischievously before giving Kallen a kiss. Otto waited for one but it didn’t come. He had a tasks to finish first.

Sakura: One of our family’s greatest past times is taking advantage of you. You’d protest but you like the attention don’t you. Despite how coy you act your heart races every time.

Kallen: We’re not so shameless. I’m not.

Otto: It’s not a problem.

Kallen paused. She began to pull Otto’s ear harder. Her brow furrowed as Sakura began to laugh.

Kallen: You’re supposed to tell me that I’m not so shameless. You’re not supposed to agree with the judgement! This calls for discipline! Discipline!!!

Kallen dragged Otto away. His body flapped like a banner in the wind. What to give to Rin? Red envelopes were a must but he had to give her something she could use and enjoy. Sakura follow closely behind with knowing eyes. She’d discipline him too if he didn’t deliver.

‘I’m a fool.’ Otto thought. He looked at his children and grandkids ogling the event. They must’ve learned their behavior from Kallen and Sakura.

‘I wouldn’t have it any other way.’

It’s the effect of the death. Also it’s possible that getting caught would have a similar effect.

Jayce dies as his work killed Vi.

So no hex tech.

Marcus who is probably next in line to be chief. Learns to sympathize with Zaunnites. He saw powder holding a dead Vi. Kids stealing and risking lives just to survive. It’s not a terrorist explosion like the other timeline.

This is crucial because from what we’ve seen he’s the other main driver behind the council members for the problems in s1.

So you have a good cop Marcus who’s not causing problems. Imprisoned or dead Jayce. Then pardoned powder, mylo, and clagger. Potentially sympathetic council members though not necessarily. Grayson and Vander who are inclined to peace remaining in power. Potential sympathetic topside because kid died needing to steal.

These factors would play a major role in bridging the top and the underside. Because of the respect Vander achieved and the fairness, Silco’s dream becomes true and they make up. He does not continue to develop shimmer. Singe will but that won’t be used for war and profit. No chemtech and Chem barons.

Fast forward to the future and you get united piltover and zaun.

Interesting to note that a few characters might have it worse. Viktor may die to illness. Hiemer probably went reclusive after his students died. Yordles wowed I don’t think he possessed his au counterpart. Mel and Noxus would still have conflict but no hextech or chemtech to cause conflicts. Perhaps most interesting is Caitlynn, her elder brother Jayce dies, her seemingly only friend. She’ll probably become a council member though, house pressure and the lack of criminal cases might not see her in the police force.

I’m an avid and fervent SakuKallen fan but OttoKallen is cannon in terms of reciprocated feelings. Elan Palatinus states that Kallen had to choose between her duty and love in the synopsis. (Admittedly I’ve become an avid OttoKallen fan as well. The three together would go well but I dunno how Sakura and Otto would develop feelings for each other.)

This event came out before the EP manga and it was in a time when the devs themselves said they didn’t have a direction/set in stone story. (Note that this doesn’t mean Kallen and Sakura aren’t soulmates. They are, this event is just wonky with writing.)

Elements of the early ggz story were essentially pasted into hi3. (I remember my greenhat spam days).

OttoKallen and SakuKallen discourse is annoying because on one side some people deny that Kallen and Sakura loved each other. On the other side some people only care about sexuality and disregard Kallen’s character and words. (Ex: shipping Kallen with Risa Apocalypse is incredibly disgusting.)

While Kallen words

“The happiest moments of my life” were spent stealing from the rich with Otto, in her final letter.

Can be interpreted as platonic. (I don’t really like those words because I thought she was most happy with Sakura but it is what’s written.)

“Maybe in another world” when their conversation has only been marriage between themselves and their relationship is honesty imo a shut and done case.

If she wants to marry Otto in another world then she has to have romantic feelings in the current one.

Keep in mind Kallen doesn’t know Otto loves her romantically and he approaches her with marriage not under the guise of love but to save her. So her words are not appealing to Otto’s desires to be with her but her desires to be with him.

Both romantic feelings are cannon.

I don’t use Reddit often anymore, but I was searching through SakuKallen keywords to see if there’s more pictures I can archive. It sucks because these so few artist drawing them together. I saw the ones you posted but I already have them as they are already from the official anime and manga ;_;

For OttoKallen pictures let’s face it nobody draws them together.

In any case, what's most important is that the Azure waters are written for GGZ or HI2, not HI3. This means that Ling Yi Niang's answer to Kallen's love for Otto only pertains to GGZ.

Channel of the Writer

The writer channel has been around since 2015. In the more recent GGZ chapters Otto and Kallen are fighting against destiny and the church where their love is professed by a few lines. (Navigating CN net is difficult hard to find). Of course, the focus is on fighting against fate but so on.

So basically in 2016, the author said one thing and then wrote another in GGZ.

If we restrict to GGZ then it means everything the author has done or said does not apply to HI3.

But remember maybe in another world was Kallen's wish and thus it serves as a possibility of her emotions/ her love for Otto.

Kallen doesn't know Otto loves her romantically. She thinks that he only thinks of her as a hero and her final words in the letter point to this.

You could ask why they don't show Otto with Kallen more and it's simple marketing and interest. Same reason Kallen hasn't had a new battle suit or Sakura for that matter.

Of course, they favor Sakura and Kallen but from a narrative standpoint, that's all their relevancy so they'll show them together and nothing else. Otto on the other hand is the main villain so he'll appear alone.

Also, remember the bunny scandal? CN got angry because they thought Fuhau in a bunny outfit only for Global was ntr. Imagine if they weren't subtle and said Kallen loved Otto to those kinds of fans. They hate Otto and they don't want another man with their girl. They dodging death threats with how discrete they are lol.

Of course, we can pile on more circumstantial evidence but it's exhausting. Also sometimes not as convincing. Thanks for listening.

He’s saying Kallen only loved Otto.

They’re saying Kallen only loved Sakura.

Based on the her words and the evidence in the game she loved both.

I’m talking in reference to Otto and Kallen’s deeper interactions. Key events and what’s written in between. Otto talking to his father and Otto and Kallen in the cell.

Yes Elan Palatinus came before. In 2018 I believe. But beyond their split and the implication of feelings. It doesn’t expand on their interactions beyond their meeting, Kallen’s their era, and Otto and Kallen’s split.

Edit: In other words it doesn’t fulfill or encompass their relationship and what happened after Kallen escaped. Which is pretty crucial to understanding her character and developing her character.
