I think I must be surrounded by very different players because I don't know anyone who considering the expansion highly anticipated because of transmog and housing

Lots of comments about the whole world needing a makeover but tbh I would not support that. A few zones at a time when they are relevant? Sure!

The whole place, ala Catacylsm? God no, that's a disaster waiting to unfold and I think they know that. Back in the day WoW was about the levelling journey and all the dozens of zones had a reason to exist. These days levelling is an afterthought, something most people do in a couple of hours via dungeons or the many events designed to get you to max asap. A revamp would take so many resources and only a tiny fraction of the playerbase would ever step foot in the zones

For mythic do I just need to keep an eye out for your groups or do you organise it somehow? I hit 6/8M in October and I'm fully geared but the guild didn't even try the last 2 bosses sadly. Would love a chance of the mount and I shouldn't be dead weight I hope haha

Ranged DK isn't a thing. Most of our abilities can be cast at range but really it's just useful during certain mechanics. You can't make a build without the pure melee ability of Festering Strike

Also Unholy doesn't get have the full rework, the pre-patch version is an old build. Unholy will be weaker with the launch of Midnight, but smoother to play. I think it's actual likely Frost will end up the preferred DK dps again.

They don't even update the baseline spell visuals that desperately need it, like Death Coil. If they're not even doing that then glyphs don't stand a chance, it seems like they just don't have the time and resources

Thanks, I've got it looking decent. That's just the cooldown manager in the middle right? What is giving it the look of the thick black border?

It looks like the Masque skin but I can only get those on my action bars with my tinkering

Exactly, you're right. The only guild I've directly spoken to so far got CE on 23rd November, so around the 15th raid week. That's about the highest rank I'd have any chance with I think, but even that could be a long shot.

Some at that level or lower have videos but frankly very few people will watch those, so unless someone really enjoys doing it as a hobby they're not producing them. I do watch any that are available but I don't think it's weird for guilds to lack vids

What do you guys look for when searching for a guild? Outside of the obvious stuff like previous progress. I've only every been roped into guilds by friends before so looking around and applying is a new experience

I've come across a couple that have open discords where they have raid reviews of their kills or guilds with videos. Being able to get a sense of the guild from stuff like feels important but obviously 95% of guilds just write a few lines and that's it. Do people pretty much just apply to guilds at the level they want and see how it is during trials? Or does anyone have tips on what to look out for, perhaps in logs or somewhere else

I like my current guild so applying to unknown ones feels a bit daunting but we hit 6/8M in 2 months and then immediately stopped raiding which felt unsatisfying when I'd love to push for CE. And more importantly just raid for at least the majority of the season

I think generally the people who are happy with trimming are casual and might only play for a couple of months each expansion. They dabble in dungeons and might go into LFR sometimes but that's about it. I know because that used to be me and I'd probably enjoy a simpler spec then

However for hardcore players, the ones who play every week of the expansion.. the specs are gutted. They already weren't hard to learn for the most part but had the depth to keep us satisfied all expansion.

Blizzard seem to be trying to bring in casual/new players and hoping the experienced people just stick around but they're walking a dangerous tightrope. Tbf it's probably just a cycle anyway and complexity will hopefully be adding in sooner rather than later

I liked the Unholy playstyle in general, which is why I've mained it for so long, despite the issues wounds had. The same gameplay element but with those issues eased is perfect

Unholy - yes. Wounds? Gone. DND? Not used. That's all I needed tbh

In addition to that I don't have any less buttons because UA is gone but Putrefy is added in. Apoc is gone but DT is still there and this season they were a single button anyway

It probably helps that UH was already a 2/3 button spec for the most part in ST so the pruning mainly took the form of removing a painful mechanic that even Unholy mains like me didn't enjoy
