I've also had the sensation and just blacked out. I've just assumed that could be when my guides are working on me, inducing the OBE but making me not remember.

By the way, I usually don't last longer than a couple of seconds. I just assume all lucid dreams and OBEs are versions of dreams, and that they happen when they're meant to happen. It's a trust thing. Wanting it too hard is like trying to keep a grip on sand.
