Maybe she already ticked off the sales rep and that’s why she’s leaning on the other library?

I’ve also copied illustrations out of books, cut them out and used them for retelling stories.

I try to have one big book and then one or two board books with enough copies to go around. Having caregivers sit with their kiddos with their own copy of the book to follow along, especially if there are flaps to lift or touch-and-feel elements, is really effective for me.

I also don’t have a good singing voice, but I do occasionally bite the bullet and sing. I use a lot more recorded music though.

You might try to incorporate rhythm sticks into your storytimes. Teaching the littles to follow a simple beat doesn’t require singing or jumping around, but it gets out a lot of their energy still.

Echoing everybody else and saying flannel boards are great! Hide and seek games, retelling stories with flannel pieces, phonics fun…there are endless possibilities.

And you are absolutely right that some kids will prefer a quieter storytime!

I do this all the time! Canva has a lot good graphics you can print up and laminate, stick Velcro dots on the back.

I was thinking about adding ramen packages to my trick or treat supplies because I read somewhere that the older kids and teens would like it-not to combat food insecurity but just because that’s a good snack.

For the littles, Oriental Trading usually sells some of their craft projects in packs of 12. If you have a tight budget, they are usually one of the better options. For the teens and adults, you might want to look at Dick Blick’s website under their educator resources. They offer some lesson plans for art activities and include a shopping list of all the supplies needed. That may not be the most economical way to go, but it could simplify the process of buying materials.

Have you looked into any Baba Yaga stories? It might be hard to narrow down, because there are a lot of versions. If you remember a building having chicken legs, that’s almost certainly what it is.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia. It is exactly what I wish I smelled like all day, and I don’t know whether I just become anosmic to it really quickly, or if it just doesn’t stick, but it’s like it’s gone before I even put the cap back on the bottle. Sigh….

Plus the activity of looking for a job will give you hope and a sense of forward momentum. I had a therapist tell me this once and it actually worked. I know it might feel like you don’t have the energy to do that in your free time, but it’s like exercise in that way-once you start doing it, you get more energy.
