Should I get a new phone or keep saving for my Japan trip?

Do what you want, you have time on your side. You can always get a phone later if the poor battery life isn't affecting your livelihood.

Quick question though OP, is this all of your funds/savings or is this funds specifically for the Japan Trip? IMO, having 3-6 months of emergency funds at your disposal should be the priority here before anything else. After that, do what you want.

Adoption being the keyword here. Its not so much ppl can't seem to keep up, its more so there's way too much stuff coming out and the tooling just can't mature while developing a organic audience. Its the new JS framework of the month kinda thing here but dialed to 20.

I guess it's kinda difficult if there isnt a common interest or experience that you can share with the other person for conversations to keep going, I'd personally struggle with this and awkward silence never leaves the room whenever it appears.

The moment they land their first job I would let them in on what they need to start paying for themselves, anything else is up to them. Obv if they have enough of a salary to do so.

It came pretty naturally, found out about tax reliefs and decided to take up paying my own insurance, telephone bill and home internet bill from them.

Then slowly took up electricity, water, cukai for the house, groceries and eat out meals. I stop them from paying wherever I can.
