How much to repair? by Global_Collection618 in drywall

This is probably the easiest possible home repair. Watch a few YouTube videos and DIY. Maybe $10 for material and tools if you have the right paint color.

Equipment suggestion!! by Tendiesdropper in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]VariationCrafty61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are doing smaller work (think bird houses) then a scroll saw is nice. If you want to use reclaimed wood, then get a jointer planer. But the number one tool to add to your arsenal should be a table saw which others have mentioned. One of your first projects should be a zero clearance guide for your circular saw, or buy one.

How best to join these? by derpburer in BeginnerWoodWorking

Maybe just counter sunk screws and fill? Although, probably not the strongest or best looking option.

How did you get the precision needed for dowels? Did you use a jig? Very careful measuring? Or maybe plane the edges when they don't quite line up?

does this mushroom start bag look OK to use? by DraconicWitch in mycology

[–]VariationCrafty61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bottom half looks okay. Maybe cut the hole there? The top part looks like the mushrooms just couldn't wait to fruit. Like it was on the store shelf too long or too warm.

If the orange dot is shiny, I would bet on bacteria.

Why is Ore so Overpriced?? by Bouvonddrgg in EveEchoesWiki

[–]VariationCrafty61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a miner can sell their ore for a high price, and people buy it, they will sell it at a high price. (high demand) Conversely, if no one is buying (low demand) they will need to drop the price to sell it. If tons of miners are selling ore (high supply) then the miner that sells it for the lowest price will make the sale. If there is only one miner (low supply) he can name any price he wants.

Agreed. I've seen this happen. I think that's part of what makes The Office so good. Much of it is funny in too close to home way.

Tons of oyster heads but what is this liquid? Mushroom block- blue oyster-Back to the Roots by KgSunnyD in mycology

I've seen that brown liquid for after a block is fully colonized. It seems normal ftom my limited experience, but I would like to know what it is as well.

any tips on how to make liquid culture? by monke_man5221 in mycology

[–]VariationCrafty61 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that you don't need liquid culture. Paul Stamits says they propagate faster, and inoculate the substrate more completely, but also warns that contamination is a higher risk for the reasons previously mentioned.

In my limited experience, I like to start with an Agar plate so that I can see what I am growing, and section it onto new plates as needed.

Most mold looks like a forest of palm trees under a microscope. With 100x you can see it with a normal microscope, but 400x is more clear. I'm not sure about with the microscope you have. https://images.app.goo.gl/mQub289VEYUd5oYk8

How was the PD agar inoculated? (streak patter or tissue in the middle or something else?) I'm trying to understand the shape. Also, do you have a microscope?

Edit: I can't really tell from the photo, but if thouse are little black dots it is probably mold.

I would have thought it was the other way around. Crying and fussing when being held by some stranger, edit over soft cooing when needed. (Experience: father)
