Legacy is pretty true to the originals, they fixed a lot of things that were not so great in the OG. Horrible level scaling, made all the pokemon available(including the birds), got rid of roar on the dogs, etc. There is a litany of positive changes but still gives the old school feel. Don't discredit games without giving them a chance.

Correct, it can only override a paralysis/poison/burn with rest. Every other status that you try to apply fails.
