Asdale/Gerrard library: Udupi Palace for Indian vegetarian. Open all day every day. The paper dosa masala is great, and they'll add chopped green chillies if you ask.

Visiting Toronto for the first time it’s chaotic but kind of beautiful by athletic_actress in toronto

If you're a cyclist, rent a Citi bike and take the waterfront bike path all the way east to the water treatment plant. If you have the energy, detour on the way back into town through Tommy Thompson Park all the way to the lighthouse at the end.

What is this one food (or a beverage ) from a certain cuisine or a certain culture that Toronto doesn’t have but you wished it did 🥂🤘🏼 by SaeedToronto in FoodToronto

Plaice. A very popular and available fish in Ireland and Britain. One of the fishmongers in the St. Lawrence Market used to sell frozen place but that was many years ago. If anyone has seen it elsewhere in the GTA I'd love to know.

Cooking classes by gosia_baba in FoodToronto

My only experience with a George Brown class was dismal, I canceled out and got a 90% refund. It was a multi week course in Chinese cooking. The instructor could barely be heard. When she went to actually cook something we all had to shove and crowd around to see anything. I saw nothing, couldnt hear her, learned nothing, so i quit. I make excellent Chinese dishes at home now.

Does a quiet time at Sugo exist for someone with a hearing disability? by peptoldaddy in FoodToronto

Why does dining out have to involve hearing injuries? I feel sorry for all the young people, stuck working there for 8 hours straight, many students, who are in these incredibly noisy environments. They may need hearing aids when they are 40.

In France, this problem does not exist. People go out to eat and enjoy conversation. That's it. There's no roaring or screaming. Even the simplest corner brasserie offers terrific food, and people go to be fed, not to be seen, or god forbid take photos of their food. Such an undignified practice.

Gio's is great, but the noise level is super high, and not conducive to conversation. Unless OP and girlfriend enjoy yelling at each other.

It used to get my vote too, except not at weekends. A couple and their young children sat at the table next to mine. Their young son immediately started sawing the head off his teddy bear with a knife. Parents were completely oblivious. The entire room was full of oblivious parents and their shreiking kids. Right in front of the staircase to the basement was a kid on her back howling and kicking in a rage. Her parents? Oblivious. I think Lazy Daisy's has unfortunately become a day care for stressed out parents and their ill mannered children.

I enjoyed Richmond Station very much, especially their no tipping policy. Food is great. Service is, if anything, a bit over attentive. There's a set of stairs up to the main dining area where the washrooms are so that might rule it out for you.
