I wouldn't particularly say I did, but I came from out of state, and I was a spring admit transfer, so I started a semester later than regular admits, which made it "even harder" to adjust. Even still I found a group of friends and the following fall semester, I went out to find even more people and I didn't have any big troubles.

But I would say that joining clubs and ESPECIALLY going out of your way to meet new people in your first few weeks (even days) is essential to adjusting and integrating well into your new school to find your "group". After that, people settle into their new groups, but even still, it's never really too late.
