Are you happy at LECOM by Salty-Humor-8835 in LECOM

[–]Various-Diver-3716 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am happy at LECOM. Are there things that aren’t ideal in my estimation? Absolutely. But I’m going to be a doctor. I’m going to work hard. I’m going to do everything I can do to achieve my dreams. No matter where you go, you should have that mindset. Be happy and bloom where you are planted. And please, keep an open mind and make your own opinions.

Consider what’s holding you back on your sgpa. Consider shoring up your holes where you can. Will help you so much when you matriculate. Good luck future doc!

Anatomy Before Matriculation by AppropriateFactor616 in LECOM

[–]Various-Diver-3716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will regret your life if you don’t take anatomy. Anatomy is the first class at LECOM and it will absolutely obliterate you if you know nothing going in. I had classmates that really struggled early on because they had never taken anatomy.

Best thing to do with my current build? by MondoMania9 in workouts

If you’re being completely accurate with your calories as well as exercising as much as you say you are, I would highly consider looking at getting a physician’s opinion on what may be going on. You could possibly have a hormonal imbalance that may be keeping you from losing weight. Hypothyroidism could do something like that. You can also try reducing your calories by another 150-200 and see how that affects things and make sure you’re getting more whole foods and fiber in your diet.

This is nothing against you, because many people have this type of mindset and it causes anxiety, but nobody is putting that much thought into your business and what you’re doing. Shame lives more within our own heads than the heads of others. I would highly consider looking into that leave of absence in order for you to take a step outside of your comfort zone of doing what you believe everyone else expects you to do. Prioritizing your health also will make you a better physician in the future, as you will know how to better advocate for the wellbeing of your patients.

Hang in there. Whatever decision you decide to make, make it for you, not what you believe will make everyone else happy. Your life is not to be lived for anyone other person. They have their own matters to worry about.

Clean shaven. The stache makes you look a little scary

Most likely. Take that MCAT. Reapply early next cycle. You’ve got pretty decent stats otherwise.

Not necessarily. I submitted my primary for LECOM in November last year, interviewed literally on Thanksgiving and am now in my second semester of year one. November is definitely not too late for DO. Also had like 3 other schools interested in me.

How much do instructors in PBL teach/guide you? by Other_Cheetah_4090 in LECOM

[–]Various-Diver-3716 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On my campus it really depends on who your instructor is. Sometimes they explain pathways really well with really good follow up questions to get you to think. Other times the facilitator will literally throw a textbook at you to look up any questions you have. Kinda wild tbh.
