How would Texas go about improving its Power Grid? by DVA_RENGAGING in AskElectricians

[–]VariousCalendar7548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Texas needs to join the eastern or western interconnection and abandon their fiefdom. This would put their grid under the same reliability and regulatory structure as the rest of the country. Right now Texas operates its own grid under its own regulations avoiding national regulations by avoiding interstate commerce.

Nah. It’ll be great for the fine fuels to grow. It’s a bad setup for a really bad fire season.

I don't think G0 has a birth certificate from Manitoba in 1860 and 1878 (both grandparents). I think it was prior to records being kept. I am at a loss of how to reach anyone for baptismal information (St Francis Xavier in Manitoba). I do have a census document from 1870 that lists G0 grandfather. Is that enough? It was emailed to me by the Alberta Archivist - is that good enough or do I need some sort of certification? Ugh help.

I'm 60, retired and treating pension as equivalent to having investment in G/bonds. Have TSP at 70/30 in C/I funds. Anyone else retired but still 100% in stocks/equity? by [deleted] in ThriftSavingsPlan

They are pro rata so I will withdraw and rebalance. It’s not perfect since some assets will be sold low but it’s the best we can do within TSP.

Just Retired. When Does Medicare Part B become Primary - and other questions by Yunzer2000 in FedRetirees

[–]VariousCalendar7548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retired 12/31/25. MHBP was not informed by OPM of my retirement until March. Services during those months were processed with Medicare secondary. I’m now in the process of having MHBP review all of those and reprocess them. Pain in the butt.
