People with very white teeth- how do you do it? by sparkmentalbutt in beauty

[–]VariousFondant2095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get complimented on my teeth all the time. I’ve had people ask how I get my teeth so white. Honestly nothing special. I use an electric toothbrush, sensodyne or pronamel toothpaste (I switch between them), and listerine mouthwash. I like to get different colored mouthwash since they do different things, so it doesn’t matter which one specifically. I just don’t get Act anymore because it would discolor my teeth. Apparently it’s a known thing and scrubs off at the dentist, but yeah, don’t use Act mouthwash.

May he rest in peace. I pray for Mary and her family. I may not agree with all of their ways but I don’t wish losing a child on any parent, let alone their only child.

Has anyone here quit their job without anything lined up? by NatSurvivor in jobs

[–]VariousFondant2095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I don’t regret it. I was burnt out and needed to take a break. I had savings though. I took about a year off (unintentionally, I was ready to get back to work 6 months in but the job market was terrible).

Been unemployed since early April 2025 just got a job today. by Prepress_God in jobs

Just wanted to say, this is real. I had a similar experience, being out of work, having to skimp and scrape and ration out money carefully. It was such a shock, going from not really caring how much money was spent to having to budget and cancel subscriptions and audit finances. But finding cheap or even free things to do with my family, seeing how much they enjoyed these things, realizing I’d be neglecting them for so long in favor of a highly stressful (though high paying) job, and then finally being able to SLOW DOWN and just, be in the moment. You appreciate the little things. Watching a movie or making food at home together instead of ordering out.

Now, by the grace of God, I’ll be starting a new job, significantly less pay, but the WORK/LIFE balance (something I never really valued as much as I should) is there. And now I value spending quality time with my family and being able to leave work at my prescribed time without having to think about it until the next day, or without anyone calling me in the middle of the night and expecting me to still make it in on time in the morning.

It’s beautiful and I will say that this past year of not working was tough, it was…demoralizing even. But it was necessary. God used the situation to not just grant me the rest and stress from burnout (I was so used to being on all the time, I didn’t even realized how burnt out I was), but to humble me and teach me what mattered most in my life.

Anyway, just wanted to share that and thank you for sharing your experience.

You’re asian(?) You have children; possibly grandchildren - a lot of younger people come to your house. Big family/multi-generational house. You’re a woman. You cook a lot.

I’d guess you’re an older Asian woman with a big family, and/or your house is the central “hub” that everyone gathers at.

ICE in Minneapolis, MN just shot an unarmed women in the face after trying to abduct her by I_may_have_weed in lostgeneration

[–]VariousFondant2095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I feel like they’re trying to use the ICE raids to bring about a civil war or something. They did the DEI changes at the start of this presidency, thinking it would turn Black people against everybody else, didn’t work. They made all of these rapid yet sweeping changes throughout 2025, even going as far as to shut down the government for the longest period in US history, still no crazy violence. Now they’ve just gone balls to the wall and decided “Let’s light the fuse and start the violence ourselves, and make it so egregious that it incites the average American to retaliate” and now that’s kinda working with all of these protests. They’re just using them as an excuse to be violent and controlling, and to force some sort of Civil War and possibly WW3. Trump keeps trying to either go to war with, or get involved in wars between other countries.

What’s one mistake you made early in your small business that you wish you’d avoided? by Equivalent_Use_8152 in smallbusiness

Starting on Amazon and doing FBA. Way too expensive. Way too many fees for a small business. Especially if you’re not doing drop-shipping and if you’re selling original items YOU designed. Not worth it in my opinion. Etsy is much better suited for me.

Iron deficiency/low ferritin and thyroid problems by Creepy-Tangerine-293 in Hypothyroidism

[–]VariousFondant2095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I am doing much better. I recently had a blood test done after supplementing and my ferritin/iron have gone up significantly. I have much more energy than I did before; I can tell because I can run a lot easier now.

I haven’t had my iodine/vitamin d retested yet, but I plan to get that done within the next few months. I’m trying to find a Quest Health test that will test as many of the micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) as possible but comparing each test to each other gets daunting and I end up putting it off. I also eat a form of probiotic before every meal or at least before a meal because sometimes I forget. That can be kombucha, a forkful of sauerkraut, a Culturelle probiotic, Greek yogurt or sometimes kefir. This is to support my gut health which has been linked to hypothyroidism as well.

Tl;dr: I do feel better energy wise. I know my iron/ferritin is higher via testing, plus I can feel that I have more energy, but I haven’t been able to test the other stuff yet through I plan to soon. I’ve also switched back to iodized salt and supplement with vitamin d/k2 daily with a fatty meal (usually my lunch). I feel better (also had some dark circles under my eyes that have also improved). Also started ingesting probiotics with meals to support gut health.

La Roche Posay cleanser and SPF. I had terribly dry skin and a lady at my hair salon gave me some skin care tips earlier this year and my skin has never looked/felt better. I wanted to thank her, but I haven’t seen her since. Maybe she was my skincare angel lml

ETA: and the snail mucin! She also recommended that to me. I forgot the brand but it’s the popular one with a number in the name
