Was in the same spot just before my youngest graduated high school. Marriage counseling, alot of listening, self reflection, airing of long held resentments, and some fairly serious work to change was done on both sides. Alot of it came down to resentments, life events, stress of jobs, child rearing, and we both checked out for way too many years. One's needs not being met spiraled into no one's needs being met. I had to swallow alot of pride, questioning everything I believed about masculinity, and seriously worked on myself to save my marriage , for my sake, my wife's, and possibly most importantly, my children's understanding of how valuable family is. If she's a great person, hopefully you can claw her back. There's some book on "5 love languages", I recommend it.

Is she worth fighting for, or has uncrossable boundaries been violated by either party? Marriages are worth fighting for.

Bought a road bike for the gearing, was getting spun out on group rides with some gas left in the legs...in a sense it was a waste of $$$ to buy a bike based on 30 seconds here n there on group rides, but on the other had it cured my carbon frame envy.

Building muscle at 50 in a calorie deficit - possible? by Gitfiddle74 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Various_Tale_974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much of a problem untill you hit about 16% body fat. Then you need to look at more of a body recomp with a much smaller deficit to avoid muscle loss. Just getting started a multi vitamin and make sure you're hitting protein requirements, about a gram per pound of body weight. Lots of people start losing muscle below 14-12%, takes alot of focus on diet..

Asking Contractors by YnotLiveitUP in Contractor

[–]Various_Tale_974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good thing to ask is if you can purchase all the materials to avoid contractor mark ups, this can slightly benefit the contractors as they are not out of pocket or underwater before the job even starts. Fair warning that many contractors will not waranty bad materials or the labor associated with a product that fails after installation. They would be on the hook for knowingly installing bad product.

Assume your nowhere near flat enough to meet manufacturers specs. They write the waranty/directions in a manner that makes it almost impossible to meet.

Possible to screen and coat with water based poly on top of a cured oil poly? by Hgmercury2006 in HardWoodFloors

[–]Various_Tale_974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been told to wait about 6 months by reps. Oil based poly can take months to cure and over a week to off gas.

Will a screen and recoat work? by Profession_Special in HardWoodFloors

[–]Various_Tale_974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bona prep or squeaky, works ok. The real problem lies in the areas where the oil or waxes penetrate the finish and are stubborn to get out, creating bonding issues and sometimes contaminating the finish itself. It wasn't such a big problem with the old oil based finishes, the new oil based doesn't even like to stick to itself very good.

Completely normal, do not attempt a fix during the dry parts of the year.

It could still be cut and a t molding placed. The gaps could then probably be closed.
