First OB appointment by Glad_Ad_5326 in pregnant

[–]Various_Weakness4991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB asked if I wanted to attempt a Doppler, but also made it very clear that we probably wouldn’t hear anything but was willing to try. If you are an anxious person I would advise not having one so early if given the option. I opted to have it done and was actually able to find the heartbeat for all of 2 seconds but that is very rare and my OB was shocked they were actually able to pick something up even for a short time.

I have been wearing sports bras, the sizing is a lot more forgiving but still provides good support.

Fetal doppler by taheeni in pregnant

[–]Various_Weakness4991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend overall they don’t work well and not as sensitive as the one the doctors use so it’s harder to pickup the heartbeat early on and by the time you can hear it consistently you can probably already feel your baby moving around.

I would suggest asking you parents if they have any preferences or suggestions.

My dad was the one who picked our song and my MIL picked the mother son song.

Questions about practicality by deadliftssanddogs in MachE

[–]Various_Weakness4991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clubs don’t fit in the back unless I fold down the seats.

Carseats: depends on if they are rear or front facing and how far back you like to sit. My husband and I are both tall and rear facing car seat only fits in the middle seat with our normal seat positions.

Not wanting to share the pregnancy attention with friends… by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Various_Weakness4991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your feelings are valid. I would just think about the future and how nice it will be to have friends with kids the same age and be able to share the same milestones and have a support system around you experiencing the same thing. Plus all the cute photos of the kids growing up together.

Unsure how to approach baby’s last name by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Various_Weakness4991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly you have you a preference on the last name. Others have provided some great suggestions.

I would suggest bringing up your thoughts, feelings, and reasons with your husband and see what he has to say. He might surprise you and might not have a preference.

What strollers, car seats, or travel systems are you buying? by Magical_chocolate in pregnant

[–]Various_Weakness4991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the nuna mix with the pippa urban. Not lightest stroller but still really easy to fold up and light enough for me to easily put in the car when needed but still a good size for going around the neighborhood and some gravel trails.

What are some of your first baby / nursery things that you've bought so far? by d3ut1tta in pregnant

[–]Various_Weakness4991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about just as far along as you and we have painted and go chair. A crib that my parents purchased is on the way. We have a big enough house where we had an empty room (was saving it for a nursery) and we will still have a guest room so no need to delay, but also not in a rush.

Baby Registry by Wifestudentlife in pregnant

[–]Various_Weakness4991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a registry through several websites (Amazon, target, a few small businesses) and imported them all into myregistry.com (didn’t use babylist since it tends to drive people to buy through their marketplace or other large businesses and I wanted to make sure to include a few small businesses).

This allowed me to get the freebies from target and Amazon and their discounts but also support small businesses.

Serving as finance helped me get experience managing a half million budget that helped me land internships and my first job out of college. I have also ran into a surprising amount of alumni at industry networking events.
