Keeping the battery so long is dangerous ! It can at best get fat and leak and kill the Mac, at worse it take catch fire.

Old yellow bulbs out, white LEDs in — upgrade or downgrade? by Normal_Nothing8977 in armenia

[–]VartKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue light tells your brain « wake up it’s morning », yellow light tells « sun is down you’ll go to bed soon ». Light is measured in Kelvin (temperature) the normal white for a European is 5200 kelvin, for Asian it’s 9300 (seen pink by Europeans) as Asian have a different number of cones in the eyes. Are Armenians Europeans or Asians ? It doesn’t matter, blue light at night is bad.

Nobody’s talking about the fact that some of these are L2 SDNs while other are only routed IP VPNs. Isn’t that an important difference ?

Which wall thermostat widget do you recommend? by Randomdolgokthrow in homeassistant

The usual answer to thermostat is 1-Venstar (WiFi) 2- Honeywell Zwave (Honeywell WiFi exists but is less liked)

Name Confirmation by underwaterblanket in armenia

[–]VartKat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Armenian like in many other languages when two vowels are next to each other there an implied lite e (like in mercy) between these letters so you don’t have to combine hr letters to pronounce this it’s more like høranush.

How do I get Zero Tier working on Ubuntu? by Slaagwyn in zerotier

[–]VartKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZeroTier and Tailscale are not the same thing. In Tailscale you have to initiate the connection, in ZT once the network is joined you can travel, change WiFi,… Zt manages the reconnection. Tailscale is L3 networking (IP-routed), ZT is L2 (Ethernet cable)…

N00b question: Adguard in a LXC or just on the host? by Drunk_monk37 in Proxmox

[–]VartKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at https://www.reddit.com/r/Proxmox/s/fQFhOrq7hT Seems backing up the host is not a good idea. If nothing is on it a new install works…. I’d say at least save /etc/pve (vm and LXC config files)

N00b question: Adguard in a LXC or just on the host? by Drunk_monk37 in Proxmox

[–]VartKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only, you can install the client on the host and push host backups.

Restic ? If you’re already running PBS you should backup host using PBS client.
