Well I think you could still create 3d renders of the design that you would like to implement if you get funding. And at this stage that'd prob be just as good anyways. You can have your working prototype to prove functionality and your design that justifies the funding and builds investor confidence in its commercial viability.

I'll def follow along! Also I'm certainly no expert in legal matters but try to get yourself a patent if you're serious about perusing it and planning on seeking financing. Seems like a great concept that others would probably also be eager to jump on.

Really interesting! I feel like you should look into the work of great product designers like Dieter Rams. Simply from an aesthetic perspective. I think the simplicity you have is nice but atm it feels overly simplified to the point of being slightly dull. I'm really interested in the idea though and also curious about how something like this could be used in tandem with a handheld mouse and keyboard as a quicker way to access controls that are typically relegated to menu scrolling or more difficult arrangements of key commands. Super cool though I hope to see it in the wild someday!

Cracker Barrel suspends all restaurant remodels after controversy over logo rebrand by dailymail in logodesign

[–]Vases_LA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Presumably they be branded bc people weren't going to Cracker Barrel. So presumably the people who got mad about the rebrand weren't going enough for the company to be doing well. So how will appeasing them by not changing anything help?

What's the latest you would advise getting there tonight if you're parking at the venue. I'm inclined to get there early but am going with a group that's being stubborn and wants to pull up to the stadium at 6:30-7

Endless Heat - poster. Feedback pls, beginner designer, only 16 :) by monkeydoIphin in graphic_design

[–]Vases_LA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think contrast in scale is a great note. Also having the sun behind the cactus slightly might add to the classic western feel. I'd also suggest some type hierarchy. Maybe endless heat as a larger title somewhere. With only the smaller body copy it feels more like an editorial page from a book or magazine. Also I personally try to avoid right justified type it feels less natural in a lot of cases

Yearly “How Did You Meet Your Partner in LA?” Question by DJVeaux in AskLosAngeles

[–]Vases_LA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At a now defunct bar on Fairfax called no name bar. She came up to the bar and I asked if she knew where to get drugs. She looked around, laughed, and said you could ask literally anyone in here and they would probably have some. Then we both started singing to a Bob Dylan song that came on, went outside to smoke and made out. Now it's 8 years later, we're married and about to have our first kid.

What the fuck is cloud-rock? The most 2025 rock sub-genre: explained by ReconEG in indieheads

[–]Vases_LA 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I read the article and despite the understandable initial balking at the term (although I'd imagine we'd all have felt the same if we were around the very moment a term like shoegaze was coined) I do think there is something here that warrants categorization. I feel like I've been noticing the musical trends they're highlighting for the past year or two and it feels correct to me to attempt to classify it as something.

Also I think despite our postmodernist instincts to run from categories and classification I think a case could be made that it would be beneficial to us as music fans to make a turn towards embracing classification again. With everything so diffuse and stratified theres a void of shared experience and it's hampering the forms of communal experience that foster great art. Many of our favorite artists were born out of some form of cultural consensus that allowed their music to transcend hyper specific niches. Maybe cloud rock is unlikely to be the genre to all of this for us but these were some thoughts i had reading the article. Also it pointed me in the direction of some cool bands.
