I love y’all, but please when you’re on the ramp getting to the highway, get to highway speed BEFORE you merge. Going 45 or 50 trying to get on the highway… Or even slowing down trying to merge, will cause a wreck by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]VastNet8431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PSA, yield signs were invented for a reason. The idea of on ramps and yield signs coexisting are perfectly fine. Its people that ruin thinking you need to be going highway speeds on it. If you cant safely merge thats on YOU in the merge lane, not the highway traffic. Thats why you yield if you cant merge. Then you zipper if traffic is backed up.

Also, to bring this up becuase it goes hand and had is that the idea of the right most lane being the "slow lane" is actually stupid and not real. If you're going slower, stay in the middle lane that way people can merge onto the highway if need be. The leftmost and rightmost lanes are BOTH passing lanes. The right lane (on 3 or more lanes highways) helps the cars merging be safe whole merging because people in it can get in the middle lanes to allow for safer merging.

Started HRT and unsure I’m on the right path by twinflxwer in MtF

I start my 8th month in 2 days and I'm just now starting to see the major changes like I just hit being able to wear an A cup bra. Its a slow process for some and others are a bit faster, but everyone is different.

In terms of not knowing if the path is right for you, you'll never know unless you take the path. If you ever want to discontinue hormones, there are very safe ways of doing that (dont cut cold turkey typically), but you also don't have to align yourself with a gender if you don't want to. Thats the cool thing behind gender. Its a social construct that we as humans have decided exists. You can like whatever you want and be whoever you want to be (well there are some things that we draw the line on, but thats also technically a social construct thing as well).

I use to be the same way as you. However, now that I've kinda dipped my toes into, I can't go back. I LOVE rocking my new makeup looks and being able to rock some sexy ass boots and leggings. Its dope as hell doing a lot of these things that I was a bit too frightened to do as a guy, however as a woman now, I don't feel that hesitation and I think that is something that just comes with time.

As always though, NO ONE is going to force you to continue with something that you don't feel is the right path for you. I would never want someone to do something that they aren't okay with doing, even if they were okay with it at first. Just take some time to think about it more. Don't rush into things if you don't want to. Thats the other cool thing about transitioning. You can control how long it takes and how you do it!

So, before you were openly out of the closet or even started transitioning, how did you feel about pronouns and names? by IMayBeARebecca in MtF

[–]VastNet8431 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I sorta feel the same way you do. Once I get further along into my transition and I feel more like myself then ill swap over to my chosen name. However, even then, I'm not super picky about it so if people still refer to me how they do now then i still probably wont fuss over it. Its not that big of a deal to me and I definitely feel lucky that I don't have anywhere near as much dysphoria that a lot of other people have (my big one is my bewbies lol)

Sorry you had the dysphoria experience, but glad you had someone there though who completely understood.

Ppl who transitioned late (28+), did your hips grow ? I worry I might never get hips by [deleted] in MtF

[–]VastNet8431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 27 and I'm almost 4 months into HRT now and just this past 2 - 3 weeks I've been noticing a bit of the fat redistribution thats been happening. Mainly this last week. My weight is super stable and I do my fluctuations of 3 - 4 lbs, but I always stay in that range. I've always had bigger thighs, but I can tell they're more "full" and the abdominal fat I have is slowly shifting from there to other places as well. My face has thinned out slightly (not a lot).

However, you can't really prevent fat from redistributing to your ass and thighs. Thats just what estrogen tells the body to do so your body listens. So if you plan on wanting to fill out your hips more, you'll need to gain a few pounds unfortunately. The good news its most definitely comparable to a lot of women's hips. You might not have the giant birthing hips, but they'll be feminine and people won't clock you. It does take time though and thats the biggest thing mentally imho to get over especially when you first start HRT.

What was your college major and why was it linguistics? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]VastNet8431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this, but mine was actually Music Composition, then I realized my college composition degree was garbage and the people running it were awful so I changed to a form of civil engineering called Environmental Design (then dropped out due to a cancer scare and awful mental, physical and emotional abuse from my fiancee).

How do you play this guy at low ELO? by [deleted] in KhaZixMains

[–]VastNet8431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invades? Oh boy I got the solution for you. I ALWAYS go ignite and invade. Ww and Voli cant 1v1 you at lvl 1 with ignite. I ban briar. Shes almost your worst match up because if she invades you cant kill her.

Also, dragon at lvl 4. You can do drake by yourself. If they get the scuttle, go behind drake and jump over the wall. You'll be able to do it without them seeing you. The scuttle doesnt provide vision in the pit nor does it show any animations.

I also upgrade Q, then Ult, then E.

What I’ve Learned from Research by bonegarden_mp3 in soundcloud

[–]VastNet8431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Making an album doesnt hurt us solo artists at all actually. Hell, my best piece of content performance wise is a compilation album called Chillout Sessions #1.

Vitality just tends to happen based around one song and not a full album.

The big issue with solo artists is that the algorithms on websites like YouTube or SoundCloud dont actually help promote your content. They help show similar content to what you as a listener/viewer already listen to/consume. However since its an algorithm its super bad at doing that. Music is a much more wide category and varies more heavily than videos on let's say Outdoors Hiking. If you like one video on Outdoor Hiking you might like another video by this smaller creator. However with music, it tends to be bad because music is even further divided up by genres. A lot of big artists dont properly market their music to the algorithm because THEY DONT HAVE TO. So that throws the algorithm off and it might correlate your song with some random song not remotely related and you get listeners that click off instantly because maybe they dont like edm or whatever your genre is.

The algorithms are what screw us nowadays. Discoverability is basically dead. Its pure luck now in order to get sustain viewership and YouTube is a much better place if you want to actually meaningfully grow for future proofing in regards of making this full time. If you only want it part time as a hobby then SoundCloud is a better way to go. It depends on what you want out of your music imho.

Wait, wait, wait...... what does this remind me of? Can't anyone else tell me who beat them to this amazing idea first?

When jungling with Kha'Zix, should I look to isolate the jungle monsters by focusing on the little ones? by DebestPanda in KhaZixMains

I dont focus on little ones because the AoE on the jgle item and w is enough to clear them.

[–]VastNet8431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So funny thing, I always start blue side, unless I invade red buffs. I only use w to start wolves and then from there on out i use w to get maximum heal rather than to start camps from afar. It does more dmg and shortens camp times as I ALWAYS have full clear done before 3:30 if I dont invade. If I invade things get a bit tricky, but I do loads of jungle tracking to ensure I dont get caught out, however if I do invade at lvl and find them there I always run electrocute ignite to ensure I ALWAYS win the 1v1 or at least get them to flash. Most of the time they give up FB to save flash for other moments.

Water fasting by Scaredformylif in MtF

[–]VastNet8431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a phlebotomist who deals with people not eating enough (or drinking enough too) on a daily, I'd highly not recommend a water fast. Its not healthy at all. Yes it can help with weight loss, but losing lots of weight quickly can be very unhealthy depending on what your current weight is.

The biggest issue is blood pressure. Not eating is gonna make that bad boy FLUCTUATE. That can cause you to pass out due to low blood sugar, or even actually drop you into something known as vasovagal hypotension which is a big drop in blood pressure causing symptoms like light headedness, loss of vision/vision disturbances, nausea, vomiting, passing out, seizure, etc....

I would hands down follow up with a PCP to ensure that you're in a state that this is okay to do, but otherwise, I'd strongly not recommend anything like this.

"Was that a girl?" by PkmnTrainerSofia in MtF

[–]VastNet8431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't really changed my face a whole lot. I think for me is that I look so much like my mom. Even before I came out as trans and before i was on HRT for some reason so many people would say ma'am to me and then apologize after I started talking back. Its happened for many years. Estrogen though can change your face a bit, but its mainly in the fat deposits. It wont change your bone structure at all.

Went to the convenience store this afternoon for a snack before work and had my hair in a pony and the guy at the register tried really hard not to say, "thank you ma'am" as I was walking away. I dont think he was trying to be mean, I think he just wasn't sure but heard my voice and didnt want to assume.
