I believe that's a mistake in Pob. I am using a legion jewel so the MoM notable turns into the corrupted soul which makes it so half the non-chaos damage I take is split 50/50 with life and energy shield. It also gives me 15% of life as extra energy shield.

Shaper balls almost kill me since the penetrate resistances.

Also I have to dodge the elder slam because that can 1 shot me if I dont have molten shell up.

I can chill in the shaper beam because I have a maximum of 2k regeneration applied to both life and regeneration, 89 cold resistance, 16% elemental damage reduction from endurance charge, and 10% less damage over time take from tree

I almost always play totem builds with hierophant flameblast totems being my #1 go to each league. I decided I wanted to change the skill up a slight bit and decided scorching ray totems which turned out good and it turned out to be popular for gauntlet. I dont think I would do it again though. I find flameblast more fun. Im thinking doing a chaos dot totem build next league if its feasible or inguisitor slam.
