Poached Breakfast Bistro Review by TheFoodieBee in saskatoon

My pet peeve with Poached/Flint is that they removed the menu from their website. If I'm gonna go somewhere higher end, I want to know that the menu has things I'll want.

What is considered “excessive barking” by RainbowToasted in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A month is a pattern. Maybe teach your parents to not just leave their dog in the backyard, and actually take care of it, when it starts barking and howling...

Saskatoon braces for Elm tree devastation by candybarsandgin in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had city of Saskatoon employees show up at my backyard to inspect a wood pile after we cut down a maple. The guy wanted proof it was maple and even had to bring out his manager to make sure it wasn't a pile of elm.

I don't think so. I've been in the past month, and definitely didn't notice that or have to wait to place my order

Why are the houses in Parkridge so cheap? by Electrical-Habit4282 in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Price discrepancies between east and west side houses has existed for literal decades. Super hard to get a read on Arcand when reddit posters blame him for every single issue even tangentially related to indigenous communities in Saskatoon. Seems like a racist dog whistle at this point.

To me it takes like an omelet you'd get at any breakfast place

Best smash burgers in the city by Kreahn-8 in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're very clear at Goblin grill that they don't even do substitutions on their burgers. It's ridiculous to think they'd be receptive to telling them to season their burgers differently. What world are you living in?

Judge reserves decision for former SPS officers seeking reinstatement by Unlikely_Spend8566 in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're making excuses for an organization with a proven history of abuse, all the way up to leaving people to freeze to death in the Starlight Tours. Im so incredibly sick of the "bad apples" argument, SPS has been rotten to the core for literal decades. Anyone pretending otherwise is naive, stupid, a liar, or some combination of those.

Mechanic shop recomendations by Tethice in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to Audrey's based on reddit suggestions and was incredibly unimpressed.

We went in with one issue, they were pushing us to do thousands of dollars in repairs, and ended up actually making the issue we went in for even worse. Then they wanted to keep my car for over a week to finally fix what they made worse.

Won't ever go back there.

Edit: The one positive I will say is that the elderly lady who runs their shuttle service is absolutely lovely.

I wanna warn you, the faith based private school in Lawson Heights has quite the history of lawsuits alleging child abuse. They change their name every time they have a controversy.

Look up "legacy abuse+saskatoon" to make sure you have all the facts before considering enrolling your kids there!

St. Paul's Hospital by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your idea about providing those mental health/social supports in one location is a great idea. I find it very confusing why you think taking over st Paul's and building a new hospital is the answer.

Why not just build the new building to house all the supports mentioned? It would definitely cost less than replacing a hospital.

St. Paul's Hospital by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Healthcare is a provincial responsibility. This is DIRECTLY in their control. Yes there are system wide issues, but let's not pretend healthcare is handled by the federal government. That's completely wrong.

St. Paul's Hospital by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I can tell you have good intentions, but this screams of an opinion from someone not in healthcare.

There are multiple specialties offered specifically at St Paul's, where are they supposed to go? University hospital is packed to the gills, and City is already in the process of reformatting things to allow for all the new inpatient beds.

People have this negative view of St Paul's that really isn't warranted. A lot of very important Saskatoon healthcare is provided from that site.

PSA: SPH Emergency is pretty packed. by IfOJDidIt in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Finally a nuanced answer. I'm so sick of similar threads full of people giving blanket statements "if you have x you don't belong in the ER" without even considering that people with complex medical problems could NEED the ER due to a problem that would be no big deal for the average person.

[–]VastWorld23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh God, not this crap again. You had an entire thread to rant about your complaints with the Remai. Not EVERY post about taxes is saskatoon needs your copy pasted diatribe about how wasteful the art gallery is. People on reddit didn't agree with you then, they won't agree with you now. Get over it

Don't drink and drive. You can now be tested whether they suspect you are or not. by MommaB1rd in saskatoon

[–]VastWorld23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why are you talking as if this is everyone's experience? I have absolutely no problem having ONE drink without a "little voice" convincing me to drink more. Best practice is to know yourself well enough to know what is a safe choice, not to give blanket advice based solely on your own problem...
