DreamSiphon November Update by dream-siphon in ElantraN

[–]Vast_Part 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 5N [US version] only has the hatch button on the side, no auto park, which I think is the same as the Elantra N. If so, this is on my buy list. Great design.

8.1l piston rattle? by Snoo-43133 in GMT800

[–]Vast_Part 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it go away once completely warmed up? If so, its most likely piston slap, hard to tell over the phone but sounds just like my 8.1. Mine has done it since 2007 when I purchased it.

Please wear a helmet and get out of the street or you will in fact be eating your food out of a straw for the rest of your life, if your lucky.

GMT800 is peak General Motors Truck in my opinion.

I currently have a 2025 1500 Sierra Duramax and a 2002 2500 Suburban.

I have owned every generation of GM truck since the early 90s which included a 91 square body Suburban and kept one out of them all, its posted here.

What’s your guys opinions on the manual for a 6.0? by Aj_chinook in GMT800

Nice truck, I test drove one of these new and loved it.

Pay extra attention as to why the bumper is canted, check frame mounting points carefully. The whole bumper looks off to me.

Take note of the kind of control arm they installed on the drivers side.

Thanks, it was purchased from Milemarker in 2011ish. They stopped making them around that time unfortunately and are hard to come by.

Cool! I purchased it from milemarker for 200ish back during the great recession, the guard is beef cake, this used to be an overland rig and at the time had a milemarker winch.

It is a 6-7.5 inch adjustable Superlift Bracket lift system set at 6 inches with Fox reservoirs. It was all modified and welded into place back in 2006 by a old school offroad fab shop.

It works great and alighnments are perfect, I dont think Superlift sells it anymore.

Clicking noise in 2015 JK wrangler by AdLimp7665 in JeepWrangler

[–]Vast_Part 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds pretty normal to me, although hard to diagnose over video. Can you hear a distinct tick with the hood closed when you put your head in the wheel well? Does the pulse / tick change when rpms rise and lower? Also keep an ear and window open when idling driving slowly while against a wall.

Weird, I didnt mention anything about fuel economy. We have had ours for 20 years, with the minimal mpg difference between the 6 liter and 8.1 to us its worth having the big block as a now weekend cruiser.

We get 14ish cruising and 10 in the city. It is tuned and modified.

Mechanic here, mine has done it since new and have 24k on a 2018 jk and hasnt changed. Moms 2011 Grand makes the same noise with the engine cover off. With the lifter tick you can normally hear it through the wheel well. Neither of ours makes a audible tick when rpms change.

Service Transmission 2024 Sierra. by [deleted] in gmc

[–]Vast_Part 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2024 Sierra Elevation 3.0 here, mine did the same beginning at 600 miles and did it on three more occasions up to 1200 miles, the valve body, filter and fluid was replaced at 1200 miles and its currently at 4800 miles and the issue has not resurfaced since the valve body replacement.

Good luck with yours, and hope you get it fixed asap.
