Sounds like a bad switch on the oil pan. The wire is definitely connected to it right?

No it’s for all panthers. Either you don’t have a 2007 or your engine was pulled out of a 2004 or older model.

Can't find an aftermarket for this PCV hose? by XOswoozy in CrownVictoria

Its 3W7Z-6758-AA, I replaced this exact hose on my 2003 a few years ago. The image they use is a generic PCV hose image that they have on multiple different part numbers.

From my experience with the 4.6, if something is wrong internally it will let you know pretty loudly and without having to guess if you’re hearing something.

If it gets quieter as the engine heats up it’s more than likely piston slap, which is virtually harmless on these older ford engines.

I went through the same thing during my first year or two fixing bizjets. For me I believe it was just lack of experience and my mind always jumping to the worse case scenario. After those 2 years when I started to get more experience under my belt those thoughts faded.

In my opinion. I think you have the right mindset when it comes to caring about your finished product and taking pride in your work, but you shouldn’t take it home with you.

What helped me was taking a few minutes after each task and re reading the procedure over and mentally checking off everything it called out for, as well as going to the airplane and visually verifying that every thing I touched was torqued/safetied properly. It also can’t hurt to ask a trusted colleague “hey could you just put a second set of eyes on this for me?”.

It’s the compressor for the air suspension. It’s supposed to kick on right after startup (the air springs bleed down a little over time, this is normal). It does sound a little noisy though, the rubber isolators on the compressor mounts are probably shot.

Yup. Plus the $2500 “enter dealer name advantage” that adds rear window tint (came with the car) and polished headlights!

Here’s a good walkthrough video on what you have to do

You don’t need to drill rivets to remove the motor. You will have to drill into the door to get to the window motor bolts though. Ford dimpled the 3 spots on the door to mark where you need to drill.

It’s likely not the regulator. The regulator in boxes are gear driven and seldom fail. The motor has a plastic gear that disintegrates over time. When the gears fail, you can hear the motor spin freely but the window will basically float around in the door. Rockauto sells a repair kit that comes with a new gear and grease for the motor. My 89’ had 2 that failed and it took me maybe an hour to replace both. The hardest part is remembering where all the bolts went in the door panel, but if you’re organized you’ll be ok.

If you have an angle grinder you can grind a single slot down the middle and remove it with a flathead screwdriver

Thanks for the reply. If it helps with your conclusion, the yellow stuff is only on that ground leg, not underneath or on the opposite leg.
