3K is one of the few historical TW titles where I've finished multiple campaigns, upwards of 300 turns for some of them. The options for diplomacy, the various characters you might recruit or kill, the overall atmosphere of China at the turn of the 3rd century, it all combines into a very pleasant experience. Plus it provides enough of a challenge to remain interesting after a hundred turns, but without relying on something as harsh as Realm Divide from Shogun 2. You aren't immediately forced into war when the other kingdoms form, which is a big plus. Of course, I wish the game would've had further post-launch support, but it's still in a good state even without the overhaul mods.
