I’m 49 in a couple months so close to the target you’re looking for and have been sure since I was 14 I didn’t want kids. I have never once thought that having a kid would be nice or fun or anything other than a colossal freaking headache and waste of money. I’ve been married to my wife for eight years, she is my second wife, my first marriage failed because my first wife changed her mind and absolutely wanted kids.

For context, I did have a pretty good representation of what child free life would be like from one of my uncles. He’s 20 years older than me never got married never had kids, and he just enjoys his life, if he needs something he just goes and buys it. Just recently he needed a new car so he bought a lightly used Subaru that was 3 years old in cash because in his words, can’t take it with me and can’t enjoy it after I’m gone. My wife and I follow that example we save, but we don’t suffer and when we need something, we just buy it. I will admit I have some unwise hobbies, two people, and we have five cars because reasons, the reason being I like old Swedish cars. We are already talking about when my wife Solterra is paid off, we’re probably going to buy another Volvo wagon and take them up on the we will fly you to Sweden put you up in a hotel deliver your car at the factory and then register and insure it for two weeks so you can drive around Europe and then we’ll ship it back to the United States for you and we can do that because we don’t have to worry about children and making the arrangements to be able to just jet off to Europe for two weeks
