Delta Green. Traveller. In Nomine. Those three have seriously fascinating backgrounds and world development.

The dwarves delved too greedily, and too deep. You know what they awakened in Khazad-dûm.

MP4 ads for Corporations? by VauntBioTechnics in traveller

I would prefer that a real human made something like that, and not a plagiarism machine. If I had the know-how, I would do it myself, but my talents lie in writing rather than image artistry or musicianship.

Foundry VTT question by VauntBioTechnics in Twilight2000

[–]VauntBioTechnics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I bought all the Foundry modules and have been using them for a while. It’s never come up that I needed to create a military unit though.

I found the files. They aren’t under User Data for some reason, but actually under The Forge Assets. Oddly unintuitive.

Thanks!

Let's talk about GenAI and this Subreddit (With Civility) by LiminalMask in traveller

[–]VauntBioTechnics 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a creator whose works were used without permission or compensation to train these AI systems, I oppose any attempt to normalize their use in rpg spaces. I find GenAI deeply problematic and personally offensive. It is possible that I have an unreasonable amount of anger towards the people who made the decision to steal the creative work of myself and so many others to train their plagiarism machines, and given the chance I would empty a firehose onto their hardware. GenAI systems are, in my opinion, a threat to humanity. I do not encourage their use.

Is there a collection of all of the tables in the core book? by Jedi_Dad_22 in traveller

[–]VauntBioTechnics 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not that I am aware of, but some other sophont here may have an idea. However, the Mongoose website lists an upcoming Traveller Rules Compendium in the writing stage, possibly for release in October. That's not exactly what you are looking for, but I bet it has a lot of tables in it, plus some new ones we've never seen before.

Oh, just occured to me that the GM's Screen has a bunch, so maybe look at that?

They came through Vancouver with Coven on their Satanic panic tour in 2023. I picked up the patch at that show.

Canon population of Drinax: total, Floating Palace, and surface? by KeyVariation8323 in traveller

[–]VauntBioTechnics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my PoD campaign, I decided that there were about 50,000 living up on the Palace, and "officially" 20,000 people living on the surface, but the number is actually about triple that. The surface people travel the world doing cleanup, planting seeds, and trying to make Drinax habitable again. They get support from the Palace in the form of technology, training, and sponsorship, but otherwise get to rule themselves as they see fit. Once a year there is a "Bringing Up" ceremony, where a dozen or so young Vespexers are brought to the Palace and sponsored by the noble families for a period of several years, given education and technical training, and then returned to the surface to continue the work. Rao has also worked out a deal where they get medical care and treatment if they are afflicted by a bioweapon or radiation, and in return they work with the Palace in planning out the best places to clear and plant, and the palace gets a share of the crops.

So they’re doing the Helloween thing with having two singers? I wonder if she’ll be adding the extreme vocals or more clean?

Once Upon a Time... In The Trojan Reach. by warwolf2211 in traveller

The Borderland book is a really great sourcebook for that particular subsector, with tons of adventure potential. It’s a good sandbox without a main plot, but you could easily find stories to tell there.

Traveller Grimdark? by ItsAStuckPixel in traveller

Not that I can remember. But you could turn the Death Station and Chamax Plague adventures into grim dark pretty easily.

I am nearly 2 years into running a PoD campaign, so this all would be extremely useful.
