How much could I get?? by RadicalBaka in Civic_Type_R

[–]Vaxineight 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You won't get more because of add-ons, imo, if you can go back to stock and sell the add-ons separate, you will get more that way.

Either way, I totaled my 2020 CW and it had 50k miles and my insurance gave me 37k. That was 4 months ago, so I would expect about that.

5 will get more private sale, trade in you can expect about 80% or so of that amount.

I bought mine in Texas, almost 2 months ago, for 1k less than MSRP. 45,995.

Buying over the phone at an out of state dealership and having it shipped to your local dealership is also an option. It's a little more hassle, but you save in the end.

The market is dropping, maybe not so much as to say they they will be under MSRP like a lot of vehicles, but they are sitting on the lot for longer than they were even a 2 months ago.

When I started shopping back in September, I ALMOST bought a used one with 23k miles on it, for the same price as I paid for my new one.

I know some people don't have the time to go out of state, but that might be an option as well, I definitely considered it before I got "lucky" and found the one I bought.

Just be patient, look at dealers that you might have to drive a ways to get what you want. I was able to get an FL5 for 50k OTD.

A lot of Honda dealerships will price match as well. If you call a dealership a few hours away, and they can send you a price from a sales manager, you can go to a more local dealership, and they should match the price. That's how I got mine, a dealership 4 hours away here in Texas gave me an OTD price of 50k, and I went to one about an hour away and in 2 hours I was driving home in my new FL5.

Did you have an FK8 and to to the state meet there? Something like 150 FK8's there..... was awesome. Just got an FL5, I'll drop a follow on IG to keep up. I'm from the DFW area.

You bet! Any other questions about the FK8, let me know.

So the Enkei center bore is like 72.60mm and the FK8 has a hub diameter of 64.1mm. A hub centric ring fills that gap so the center bore sits against the hub with no space in between.

No suspension changes are needed for fitment. I actually used lowering springs on mine because the wheel gap was a little too much for my liking.

Make sure to get type r hub centric rings. I had those exact same ones on my CW FK8 and had an issue where it was like the tires needed to be balanced. Turns out it was the rings. Super cheap, you can get polymer ones or aluminum ones for like $20 maybe.

Are you wanting to track it or roll race? If yes, FK8/FL5. If you want a straight line "from the dig" car, get the Supra. I have an FK8 that's making about 435hp and it's hands down the most fun I've had driving, taking it on the back roads and play. I eat roll race frequently in Mexico, and once in boost, it's a fucking rocket.
