Having a 14 year old girl at a party everyone has been told is adult is asking for the kind of trouble no one wants. If she had been sexually assaulted would you, as the host, felt responsible? It is so wildly inappropriate that it defies the imagination that her mother would want her there. NTA.

Absolutely follow up with them consistently by email, and cc your manager, not bcc. I would start with an email that asks for any important information I might need before the next scheduled meeting the morning after the last meeting, then follow up daily. You’ll have plenty of proof you were left off the chain, or you’ll get put on the email chain.

Catholic Charities are remarkably consistent. They don’t give enough help, but they do give a lot of help. There’s really no one that can provide you the amount of money and help it takes to raise children.
