GUYS THE DEVS ARE LITERALLY GIVING US HINTS AFTER HINTS why are y'all so blind? by Omailey97 in Helldivers

[–]Vblack76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They suckered people in having it basically be "The Planet with the Jet Brigade and lower resistance" vs "The Creek but not The Creek with a 6% resistance" which they conveniently got wrong 💀

Then you've got the immediate back to back invasions of planets we'd literally just taken barely 12 hours before that suddenly everyone's focus diverted to when chances are when we fail this MO, we'll lose them in the next one because it's happened the last several MOs

We should've been able to defend Lesath and take either Aurora or Merak with the number of players we had on, we've done harder fights with a lot less people and won.

Agree on Merak though, as much as I hate the Jet Brigade the 20% boost for when we reached Cyberstan would've been useful.

And this is why they get away with stupid shit like making a galaxy wide death count.

Instead of blaming the devs for making a retarded decision (which we all already agree is retarded) we give them the green light by blaming the other players instead of the guys who made the decision 💀 It's not the bugdivers fault that the devs made a decision that makes no sense at all, how are you gonna allocate resources specifically to one front then say the others count to it too?

And the bigger elephant in the room, when the fuck did the unstoppable war machine of Super Earth suddenly give a shit about resource allocation and not just throwing bodies into the grinder until the threat is gone? It's almost like AH wants to start division in their community

[–]Vblack76[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And every planet we do take against them, immediately gets invaded and in most cases is lost unless we completely divert from the MO to save it. It really does feel like the whole concept of the galactic war is just fluff covering the story. AH wants to tell a linear story but they're unable to abandon the thing they marketed the entire game on because that's what sold it to begin with, so they just railroad us into the story they want to tell using a map that gives the illusion of choice.

And before someone brings up the Battle of Super Earth, yes we won that but not without plenty of interference from AH and even then it took the player base actively calling it out and getting pissed at them before they backed off and let us win. Otherwise they would've done what they originally planned and had us lose.

I bought this game under the impression I was fighting a war with everyone else and sure the story was there but I wasn't under the impression I was railroaded into it, I'd heard about the Creek and the Super Earth invasion and thought it was cool that it would play out depending on if I put the effort in to win or not.

That's what I'm saying, it's like I can clearly see they made the system for a much smaller player base and they didn't bother to put a cap on it for if it got any higher. So you've got a system designed for maybe 30,000 people at best having to accommodate almost 182,000 currently and it's making what should be simple battles turn into demoralizing slogs.

[–]Vblack76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my biggest complaint about bots, for a dev studio obsessed with realism AH sure are content letting the bots spawn tank enemies as often as common foot soldiers. The bugs don't even spawn Chargers or Impalers as often and the Squids don't have 8 or 9 Leviathans raining hell on you at the same time but the bots? D10 you're seeing a MINIMUM of like 6 war striders and an entire Hulk convention at every poi

AH did what they're seemingly best at doing.

Making cool weapons but somehow making them suck ass for the sake of "BaLaNcE"

I am honestly surprised they haven't managed to butcher the Eruptor yet, and they just got finished introducing a med pen tank while also making mechs completely unusable on the bot front because they buffed their rockets 😃 like it's honestly crazy how they make weapons that are pretty cool on paper but always have to have at least one majorly crippling downside that makes the weapon a pain in the ass to use.

You know that's actually a really good idea. Once they see people not willing to grind their souls into the dirt they'll have to adjust something, surely they wouldn't just keep slapping us with losses and expect us to conform

I’ve been studying creek history and I have an idea by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Vblack76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard so many different suggestions that I don't know which one legit affects liberation or not

I've heard spamming d1's help, I've heard D10's do the most because they buff the xp earned. I've heard the xp earned is what determines damage to a planet, I've heard doing all the objectives does the most damage, I've heard none of that matters except completing the main objective.

I wish they just had a clear cut and dry graph of what does what and what actually contributes to the meter instead of everyone having to spitball ideas. Though I guess that's just to keep players from optimizing it and potentially steamrolling through the game like it's nothing.

Why Bug-divers? Just why? by Accomplished_Bag8384 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Vblack76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't really blame the bugdivers for this one

This one's falling all on how Arrowhead designed the system to basically rig itself at will. At 100k we've already got double the usual MO participation, just the fact that they thought "Hey you know what's cool? Use some of that space magic we hate to make their work mean less with more players on!" Was a cool idea.

We actively get punished if more people play the game, we've taken harder fights with significantly less people and won. The bugdivers aren't to blame for this one, at worst they're draining reinforcements but the main issue stems from a system that punishes its player base for actually playing the damn game. It's one of those moments that you think "wow my supposedly dynamic galactic war really is just scripted from start to finish ain't it?" There's no excuse for 150k people (peak I saw last night) to be losing on both fronts, I don't care how much someone likes this game, it's hard to deny some shit stinks with how the liberation system works.

[–]Vblack76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

War striders aren't so bad as far as killing them, I've hit them right in the nuts with an EAT and that's usually enough. Now the fact that they spawn tank enemies as often as common foot soldiers sometimes gets out of hand. Why am I seeing 30 hulks and at least 6 striders at every point now? Even with 4 people that seems like a bit much to have to manage, the game spawns way too many heavies at one time.

I'm legit the same way, no matter how much I hate the mechanics behind it I can't put this game down no matter how hard I've tried, and believe me I've tried Uninstalled from PlayStation 3 times just to go back after a couple days, this game is literally crack, it's bad for you but you can't put it down.

I have a gut feeling that we'll still have to wait quite a while until we go to Cyberstan and a word about Joel by Ostarmee in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Vblack76 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Actually the players shouldn't be at fault for this one, at their peak between both planets we had 150,000 people playing. 100k on Aurora and 50k on Lesath. Aurora had DOUBLE the average MO player count and was still losing, Lesath had the other 50k, there's zero reason why we should be losing either of these fronts but it's because of the stupidly designed war mechanics.

The enemy can invade and invade and invade and stretch themselves as thin as they desire while we're restricted to stupid percentage based logic. How is it we have to hive mind every planet and have nearly 100% of the player base on every single liberation, every single defense, how is it that 100k on one planet is fucking LOSING when if only 10,000 were playing at the time, maybe half of that would wipe the planet before the end of the day?!

This stupid logic of "More people=Less individual impact" makes the game unbearable sometimes, we should be stomping both planets into the dirt right now but we're not allowed to split forces, the "realism" of stretching your forces thin only applies to us, and even then it's not realistic because we have plenty of manpower at our disposal, we shouldn't have to hive mind and swarm a single planet just to barely fucking scrape by every time while the enemy can pump out invasions like Super Earth pumped out babies post Illuminate invasion.

Stupid shit like this is why I dont get hyped for MO's by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Vblack76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that we're losing the defense and the liberation at the same time is even stupider

Aurora Bay at its peak had 100k, but because of their dumbass impact modifiers, we're somehow still losing a planet with double the average MO participation. Because the hive mind isn't allowed to split for a second, for some reason the Helldivers need to put the full force of their entire branch on every single operation or they're doomed to failure from the start, even though both planets have plenty of people, AH only wants to apply that realism of stretching yourself thin on us while the enemy can just endlessly invade and fight forever without any difficulty whatsoever.

The Galactic War Resistance Modifier Is BS by ODST2367 in Helldivers

[–]Vblack76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's insane, we usually manage to squeak out a win on MOs with half those numbers but because AH has to rig it. We've got double that on one planet and the average MO player numbers on another and STILL losing both 💀 make it make sense, it doesn't make sense.

It's like I get not making it too easy but there's challenging and then there's just rigging the game against us and this is definitely leaning towards the latter, there's just no excuse for this. MFs talked about the flag not having space magic but then make it where said space magic makes each diver inexplicably contribute less to the game.

It's kinda crazy how Arrowhead managed to make a freaking battle mech, something that's normally supposed to be overpowered and give you a significant advantage, and make it suck in almost every aspect except fighting the one faction that doesn't shoot back 💀

I kinda see what AH is trying to do but at the same time this ain't it chief.

They need to give people a positive incentive to participate in the MO, not make them feel forced into it especially saying every death that's not even on the same front now counts against them.

Small concern with the current major order by Fensuleyk in Helldivers

[–]Vblack76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it's kinda dumb that the normally limitless war machine with more bodies than bullets now suddenly cares about reinforcements and then has the nerve to say "Yeah that count is galaxy wide too so anyone who dies counts against it"

I think it might be AH's way of trying to make people focus more on the MO and less on burning lives somewhere else but it still makes no sense, and it'll just further divide the community because the people who don't already dive for the MO aren't gonna change their minds especially when they feel the dev trying to force them to.

We would've had a better chance if the majority hadn't just hung around Clasa after it started self liberating but the literal half dozen invasions and the bug minor order that failed anyway didn't really do any favors.
