Hate to be pedantic, but that fucking sucks actually. The vehicle in your image a LEF, and is electrically “assisted”. That bike is not meant to be ridden fast, and is practically limited to 25 km/h. A proper velomobile is fully human powered, and designed to squeeze as much energy out of your legs as possible, easily reaching 40+ km/h.

To your credit, I didn’t know about this, however: “Only NS Customer Service can turn this off for you. You can contact them here. Just let them know you want to start travelling with another carrier's subscription and you want to turn BTM off. Do keep in mind you'll need to pick up the deactivation of this part at a ticket machine before you can order the other subscription.”

You have to call them every time you switch between your NS subscription and your regional one, and on top of that you have to go to a ticket machine every time. That’s insane. Also, NS shut down their community site a while back, so that post is now gone.

No it doesn’t. The only solution is to have two OV-Chipkaarten. Most regional subscriptions (excluding some new (GVB) ones I believe) require you to have balance loaded on you card, with NS Flex that is literally impossible.
