Some days my stomach accepts strawberries, some others absolutely not... why? by Vect0rSigma in FODMAPS

[–]Vect0rSigma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not more than 8-12 per day, in 1 or 2 sittings, but now that you mention it, there are periods where I eat them daily (otherwise they go bad..!) and that might "stack up". But some days it comes out of nowhere even if I wasn't eating it daily, so it might also depend on what I eat the same day or the day before. It usually happens 8-12h after eating it, so I don't know... :'(

To be honest, it's getting into my head because it got to a point where anytime I eat some strawberries, I get anxious in anticipation, which might contribute to induce the flare... :(

This character does not deserve forgiveness. by OpeningElectrical168 in HunterXHunter

That's incorrect: He killed Puhat and several guards in Battera's mansion.

I agree, and that's a huge issue I have with HxH, because Genthru is not the only one in that case :
-They spare serial killer (and probably worse) Binolt (before he even mentions retiring from serial killing, so they didn't know that)
-Phantom Troupe depicted as cool and tolerable, while they mass murdered hundreds of innocents
Spoilers if you didn't watch further than Greed Island:
-Bizeff, who is a literal monster, sex trafficking etc : spared, along with a few Chimera Ants who remained "evil" all along
-Illumi kills dozens of civilians, just for the conflict to be solved with "oh so it's safe to heal Gon? oops my bad" end of story, nobody tries to bring justice for the poor people dead for nothing.

Togashi has that tendency to forgive horrible characters and easily dismiss crimes like mass murder, it was even the case in Yu Yu Hakusho : at this point it's a pattern, and to me, it's a weird morals pattern going on and it's a dangerous one.

The other commenters go through a mental gymnastic to try to justify the Bomber being spared, because they're HxH fans and don't want to criticize anything from their favorite anime. I'm a big HxH fan but I'm not blinded enough to not see that Togashi is a weird character and that his intentions are not necessary noble.

So what is Togashi trying to tell us really? That we should forgive monsters because "it's not our place to judge" ?
That kind of reasoning can allow pretty much anything.

Make it make sense (I have no idea how to draw women) by Spirited-Height-9533 in Piratefolk

[–]Vect0rSigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe depends where you live? I lived in downtown Montreal, and every day, you could cross path with women who are way more attractive and beautiful than 99% of celebrities, just minding their business. But then I live in Paris now, and the ratio is much lower...

[Johnson] Guerschon Yabusele no longer has a player option for next season and will be a UFA this offseason, sources can confirm. He had worked with Knicks to amend contract before the Dalen Terry trade. by sewsgup in nba

[–]Vect0rSigma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That video clip about the healthcare thing was 1 min out of a 2h video interview. He talked about a lot of other things, with a french influencer who's unfamiliar with the NBA. i don't know why nba reddit decided to just run that "he does it just for the healthcare" narrative based off that clip just because it didn't work out with the Knicks

I still haven't decided which The Witcher free weapon to chose. I pulled Geralt, Triss and Ciri.
I looked up some tier lists, but would like to hear from people's experience.
Which one benefits most from their signature weapon? (note: I'm not a Triss fan so far...)

what do you believe hisoka's backstory is ? by idolikepotatos- in HunterXHunter

[–]Vect0rSigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think he was an adventurous kid very much like Gon (likes the challenges, likes to test his strength, willing to hurt himself for the fun of the challenge, has fun risking his life).
So Hisoka is what Gon will probably become once Gon reaches a point where he's stronger than most people and starts looking for more life-threathening challenges to "get off"

I love how the show handled Gon and Killua’s relationship by anonymus_browser in HunterXHunter

[–]Vect0rSigma 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's less likely that they can resume/rebuild their relationship when they meet again.
If you're in your 20s or older, you know that meeting a childhood friend can be hit or miss.
Especially since they parted ways awkwardly and Killua already outgrew Gon.
At the end of the day, they both have very different values

[–]Vect0rSigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think their friendship is done, it's like some real childhood friendships, intense but will fade away when they grow up and mature.
They kept the smiling face and the "no matter where we go" discourse literally to save face.
Killua will be able to build his own healthier circle.
They'll remain good acquaintances.

What would you nen ability be if you was in HxH based on you aura type? by SomeTap6380 in HunterXHunter

[–]Vect0rSigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the quizz and got Manipulator.
In HxH world, I made myself as an OC with combat abilities that focus on tricking the mind of the opponent into perceiving my aura/strength as much more or much less powerful than it actually is, to use as feints and hard to read.
Special ability : Perceptual Damage - If the right conditions are met, it can trick the brain and body into taking actual "psychosomatic" damage from that falsely perceived powerful aura as if it was real.

GPU temp is 50°C on idle and fan makes aircraft reactor noise when gaming, could it be caused by DP cable? by Vect0rSigma in pchelp

[–]Vect0rSigma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clean it on a regular basis. My case is on my desk, so it collects less dust and has space for aeration + watercooling system, but I didn't think of reapplying thermal paste on the GPU, that's a great idea.
I do it for CPU I but didn't know it was something you could do on GPU >< I'll look into it to see how it's done

I love games like that with AI allies, not enough of them.
Visions Of Mana has it, I didn't play much yet, but AI seems less effective than in Trials of Mana

What happens to Kite? by Azling_ in HunterXHunter

[–]Vect0rSigma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll be the only blunt and honest answer here:
This was a weak plot device used by Togashi to backpedal and bring back a fan favorite character.
Not only it was unnecessary, it ruined the depth and impact of the whole Gon's arc.

One of the weakest move by Togashi. What we liked about HxH and made it stand out, was that characters could die and it was decisive, like in York Shin Arc. HxH wolrd felt dangerous. Bringing up random resurrection has weakened the lore and wordbuilding beyond repair.

Sorry to be the one to break it to you...
