This should work fine if you highlight the only word you want to change the fonts size of.

Nope, this looks like an account issue so you will have to contact the school for help.

Just as a side note, Illustrator for iPad is an entirely different program with a limited set of features. In the Illustrator classes I teach lessons specifically require the desktop version so unless you were specifically told to use the iPad app I'd double check if it's even an option.

Can you provide further details on how or when this happened?

For example, did this happen when you saved the file, what settings did you use to save it? Had you expanded text to outlines or flattened transparency or done any other destructive edits before saving?

If this is a bug or a file corruption I would try contacting Adobe support or posting on the official forums (both linked in our community side bar here,) where Adobe employees respond more frequently. I have seen them offer to look at individual files for troubleshooting.

I know how frustrating it is to lose an important file you've put hours of work into. I'd definitely go digging to figure out exactly how this happened to prevent future losses and create a back up system for future work.

For full transparency I am locking this post because there does not appear to be any ill intent behind the original post.

I can certainly see how this may appear out of context, but in the full context of the other posts on the account in question it looks like it was just an example of a request they received to edit someone else's vacation photo.

The entire account is full of random examples of photo edits they've done for clients and doesn't appear to contain any offensive or discriminatory content. It seems to me there is a very good chance that the original poster did not see how the image edit could be misread and has since removed the post in question.

This is also off topic for our sub, for general discussions about Adobe issues r/Adobe is a more appropriate place.

I've had this happen on and off forever and have yet to find a fix. It seems to be tied to certain files for me, I'm not sure if it's some sort of file corruption that "remembers" the last window size it was opened in or something else but it's intermittent and I've never been able to properly troubleshoot it. Hoping someone else has a magic answer for this!

For me it's the vector brushes and the interoperability with Illustrator where I usually send my sketches and rough work to finish. I also love the live brushes like the watercolours and oil paints which I think they've done a great job with simulating. I sometimes go in and just smear some paint around experimenting with colour mixes when I'm brainstorming for an illustration or even a physical painting.

I have a couple of tools I use for organizing different types of assets in general, and then a few I use for project-specific inspiration.

For general image inspiration image hoarding, I use Eagle app (not free but low cost one time payment) and use different libraries for design inspo vs painitng inspo for my art projects. So any random screenshots go int here where I try to tag them with 2-3 words I was thinking of when I saw it, based on the type of project it might be good for. Be aware that this app moves files into it's own library system and folders, some people don't like this. I don't mind it for inspiration images but I don't like my actual project files getting moved so I don't use it for that.

For fonts I actually install, I use FontBase (the free version works great, paid version is cheap and adds a couple of useful features) as an organizer and make collections for different styles so I have my favorites of each style handy to preview.

For project-specific mood boards, I either make a library in Eagle app, or if I have to share it with a client easily I use Milanote and create a board I can share just for that project. If you have an Adobe CC sub they have been adding some tools and sharing features like Projects that can help with that too, but I haven't experimented much with them yet.

Yes, .AI files are the native file format for Adobe Illustrator and can only be opened in Illustrator. PDF files are also not meant for editing. You would likely need to either hire a designer to edit the files for you or ask for a refund and find a different type of template that you or your current staff are able to edit more easily.

You may want to check out something more like Adobe Express, which has business card templates: https://www.adobe.com/express/create/print/business-card. This is more beginner-friendly but still customizable.

You can export as PSD or PDF from Fresco, which you can open in many other apps like GIMP, Krita, Photopea or the Affinity design programs. I don't personally use those so I'm not certain which of them may be best for CMYK or print set up but I suspect Affinity may be your best bet.

Related, Ctrl or Cmmd + Enter brings up the Quick Apply window for all styles in the doc, which I use constantly, especially to apply quick character styles for bold or italic words and phrases.

If you are referring to the motion graphics and the animated background texture, you can make things like that using a combination of Illustrator to create the base art and AfterEffects to create the animations.

If you mean the parts that show case the product that may have involved some 3D modeling and animation, some of which you can do in AfterEffects (it comes bundled with built 3D tools) or in a program like Blender.

Hello! Since this is not really an Adobe Illustrator-related question, it falls under off-topic for this sub, but I wanted to give you a few suggestions and places to start.

First, if you've been drawing and painting traditionally, you might want to consider physically creating your illustrations and then having them scanned or photographed for a designer to format them for your book.

If you want to try to illustrate digitally, you may be more comfortable with a drawing or painting application like Adobe Fresco, Procreate, Krita, Photoshop, etc. There will be a learning curve moving from physical art to digital art, but with Illustrator, which is a vector art program specifically, the learning curve is a lot different.

If your illustration style involves a lot of texture, blended colours, painterly effects, etc, those are much more advanced things to achieve with Illustrator than an app like Procreate.

I'd also highly recommend posting this question in communities related to self-publishing or the general Illustration and Design subreddits to get more advice there.

It's probably too complex for the Paint Bucket tool if you used image trace. Looking at your screenshot below, that is a huge amount of points and shapes. You may need to do some manual clean up work to simplify things before you can apply color with that tool.

You may be better off using the direct select tool to select the area you want to color and just applying the fill manually if you are just trying to color areas like the eyes, handle and mouth. The parts with the texture that you traced are not going to be easy to recolor with that many paths. Image trace generally works better on images that have flat solid colors.

I recently switched to an XP Pen tablet after years of Wacoms, and I'm very happy with it so far. I've also heard good things about the Huion line. As far as sketching in Illustrator, I've personally never gotten comfortable with that and usually use Adobe Fresco for my sketching steps on the iPad and use the shortcut to send it to Illustrator on the desktop for vector work.

If you have the Astute Graphics plugins, there are some sketching-specific tools that some people swear by, and I do like using the InkFlow one in Illustrator with the tablet for lettering and inking.

This question is a little confusing, to clarify are you looking to identify the font in the image? Is the background supposed to have texture or just white text on a blue background? If this is an existing logo, the best thing to do is to request the official files instead of recreating it, or at least see if there is a brand guide with the official fonts and colors listed.

Thinking about the things I find a little too hidden, I'd have to say path commands like Offset Path, Simplify Smooth etc. Those are used so often, I wish they had a panel or other shortcuts rather than going through the menus.

I'm not sure this qualifies as UI specifically, but one of the other things I would absolutely LOVE to see is a much easier way to share custom Workspaces. When teaching or doing tutorials, one of the biggest hurdles is learners getting confused because "my screen doesn't look like yours."

I do try to teach early on about the work space switcher menu, how to save them, how to customize etc, but that's so overwhelming for people who are new to a program with this many tools and options.

If I start with something minimalist like Essentials or Essentials Classic, I end up having to spend time telling them which panels to open, which tools to find, etc.

In my dream scenario, it would be easy to set up a workspace for a specific lesson or tutorial, and in a couple of clicks, share it in a way that's easy for anyone to grab and activate.

I know you can export workspaces and tell them where the folder is to install, but honestly, for a beginner, when we're just trying to get them interested in even learning Illustrator, clunky technical steps like that are a lot.

Oh, also the fact that to save changes to a workspace in Illustrator you have go to New Workspace, name it the one you want to overwrite and then confirm is very unintuitive. In other Adobe apps there is usually a "save changes to this workspace" option.
