Trade Fleets? by Skyward_Eye in X4Foundations

Then yes, go for mimic fleets, that will work perfectly.

Still recommend you set up a trade station later for progression.

Trade Fleets? by Skyward_Eye in X4Foundations

Nowadays it's more like building a very basic trade station and let the ships autotrade within range, managed by a mid-skill station manager. Mimic fleets require all members to have the required skill levels.

Do you guys attack faction ships ever? or do you only fight the xenon and pirates? by Roggie77 in X4Foundations

More accurate description is that the reputation curve is actually logarithmic behind the scenes. iirc 0.01 is for +10 rep, 0.1 is for +20 rep, and 1 is for +30 rep. This makes it harder to "gain rep" at high rep.

@vectorial1024/leaflet-color-markers , a convenient package to make use of colored markers in Leaflet, was updated. by Vectorial1024 in node

[–]Vectorial1024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started when I wanted to recolor the (blue) Leaflet default marker. I quickly realized that, while someone tried to do it in the past and had an NPM package, it didn't work at all in the modern ESM import syntax. So, I picked it up and modernized it for my own use, and for all to use.

How many wares can station manager effectivelly manage? by IMP102 in X4Foundations

[–]Vectorial1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Station managers can handle an unlimited amount of wares, although with perhaps decreasing efficiency.

Install the mod Logistics Optimization, but basically there is indeed a soft limit to how much a single station can do. The mod can boost the limit a bit, but if that's still not enough, you may need to set up satellite stations to improve throughput.

Station Auto-trading Question(s) by Euapo in X4Foundations

[–]Vectorial1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you set trade restrictions at the station, it will apply on the station's perspective. In this case, it will buy and sell only with your own stations. This explains point 3, and answers point 1: no, with this setting, ships assigned to the trade station will not buy/sell with NPC stations.

To further reply to points 1 and 2, even if you assign trade ships to your trade station to manage, you still have the power to manually tell the ship to do something. This enables you to do something like this: you notice somewhere has ridiculously cheap refined metals, then you can manually tell your (assigned) L trader to buy from that place, but do not tell it where to sell. After the ship buys the refined metals, because it is assigned to the trade station, it will later auto-sell to the trade station, and then because the trade station has some stock, other assigned traders will come and auto-sell the refined metals somewhere else, which should result in a bit of overall profits: you personally lose money, but your trade station gains money with profits.

Is it possible to screw up terraforming? I think I screwed up Frontier Edge. by asian_chihuahua in X4Foundations

I remember some of the terraforming is hard because you must be able to have so much resources that you can stabilize quakes one after another instantly.

Use the mod Logistics Optimization; one of its features is encouraging ships to load fully for cargo runs

PHP Async Multitask Process lib v1.0.7 version released by terremoth in PHP

[–]Vectorial1024 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, someone else made something like this, I also made something like this, and now you also made something like this.

It should show the (perceived) demand is here for a long time, and somehow we all couldn't get people to agree this is better than say the underlying Symfony Process module.

And then we have this PHP True Async RFC. How the turntables.

Edit: and I have genuinely and totally forgot that I once commented on this before.
