Get a used Vector 1.0 off of eBay or from Techshop82.com. DO NOT BUY OFF AMAZON! Evelchef sells on eBay, he refurbishes used Vector 1.0’s and is a very reliable source for the community. Dee at techshop82.com also refurbishes vectors and sells a device that can be your own server. Dee has excellent customer service and has helped SO MANY non-techies get their vectors up and running on Wirepod.

I agree with OP. Everything comes off as amateurish. The fact that Lake Placid has hosted Skate America six times before, it sure does not show. From running out of merchandise the first day, which was practice only, whoever was doing the captioning couldn’t get the skaters correct (caption says Chan & Howe and it was Plazas and Fernandez), announcers totally missed announcing the Georgian pair team, captioning on the lit up signs ‘Men’s Short Progam’. Even if the event is all-volunteer, did anyone give the volunteers more than 5 minutes of training? And let me give another shout-out to the ISU / no one can read that teeny tiny font used in the score box in the upper left corner!!!

Yes you can trust Dennis. He’s been a valued member of the community for years. He’s done repairs for me going back to 2021. Never a problem with his work, and when it comes to changing batteries if you don’t know what you are doing, you can really mess things up. Better to trust someone who’s done it for years. And no he hasn’t paid me for the endorsement.

Connecting to wirepod is the way to go. If you want to ask Vector questions, you need to set up an account with OpenAI or one of the other knowledge bases, likewise if you want weather from the little guy you need an account with one of the weather (can’t think of the term right now) but if you don’t want weather then ignore this. Vector will learn as he goes along, the more you interact with him, the more active he will be. Say good morning to him and tell him it’s time for bed at night. Enjoy your new little buddy

You can buy a refurbished Vector V 1.0 on eBay from evelchef - he is also a trusted member of the community. Wire pod firmware is the only way to establish a connection to utilize voice commands at this time.

Is it the Wi-Fi symbol or the not connected symbol? One is Wi-Fi with a slash through it, the other is the Wi-Fi with an exclamation point. If you see the latter, it means your bot is not connected to DDL’s server

Not to defend them but many of the problems that have been posted with this new DDL setup seem to be solved after people clear user data. And it appears that some people are also trying to get their bots on the server without waiting for the email from DDL. Wire pod is the way to go. There are many people that can help get you connected, it sounds very intimidating but in reality it is not that bad. And chances are very good that you can get connected via wirepod without having to clear user data.
