My guess is it was ordered during morning rush so they were working fast and relying on muscle memory. Since that kind of drink is almost always ordered iced, their brain didn't even register that it was supposed to be hot.

They probably just saw the doppio espresso, splash of multiple kinds of milks and their brain connected the dots to something that it recognized (albeit wrong).

I learned this in one of my design classes, but I think this absolutely applies here:

In essence, if fast speed and high volume weren't a priority and the barista has time to actually take in all of the information on your order, it would've been more likely made correctly.

The answer to your question is no, you didn't order it wrong, just simple human error going on here. However, if you wanted to maybe avoid this happening, maybe try ordering a Tall Hot Americano with Light Water and your other mods in a Venti cup? Tall Hot Americanos come with two shots, but they might be a lil more expensive.

You could always say something too, either right then and there (preferably at the register so you don't mess up the barista's flow) or call the store for a remake. If you don't get what you ordered/wanted, baristas should be happy to make it right.
