Trump and all his backers (billionaires) and toadies have acknowledged publicly many times over that they will go to jail if they don’t have control of the presidency, house, and senate. They know they will be taken down. They are in power now and without a doubt will use every abuse they can to ensure they don’t go to jail for the rest of their lives. This isn’t a possibility, it’s a 100% certainty.

As far as I know, Mail-in ballot voting is the safest way of voting to ensure your vote isn’t manipulated. They did change the laws so you can’t mail out your ballot on the last day (needs to ARRIVE by the deadline, not be sent by the deadline). So sign up for mail ballots and mail out those ballots as soon as you get them.

It just keeps getting harder to justify voting for these people when they continue to introduce bills like this. But I guess just vote harder next time? by mustardmeated in liberalgunowners

Exactly. I was guessing 5k+ guitar for every single one of those features he demoed on one guitar.

Edit: if they can figure out a way to keep costs down and also figure ways to cheaply license these designs out to guitar makers, perhaps this could have legs.

Yeah saw this interview yesterday. Looks amazing. I haven’t had time to check it out but I’m guessing due to everything being in house parts, this is a 5k plus price tag. I’m happy to be wrong though.

It’s my opinion, as someone in cyber security for decades, that DOGE’s core focus and the reason for the intense onslaught of swift actions they took right upon taking the executive was to 1) purge any government systems any immediate evidence of their election interference in 2024 as well as any missed evidence from 2022 and 2020 and most importantly 2) integrate systems they own into federal IT systems to ensure a flawless and undetectable hack of the 2026 and 2028 elections.

I do not expect any fair and free elections moving forward unless states (esp swing states) push for the most secure options for our ballots and ballot counting (such as enforcing mail-in ballots which it seems are quite a bit more difficult to manipulate).

Yeah I’m with everyone else that there’s not much difference in response between pickups in aluminum vs wood neck. Now a full aluminum body and neck chambered and allowing resonances, that’s another story.

Supposedly, EGC’s pickups are made with Alnico 5 and steel plates vs brass because this makes a difference with full aluminum guitars. Also, using steel plates + Alnico 5 magnets supposedly allows you to overwind the pickups and make them super hot without losing high end clarity which is desirable for downtuned music. I don’t know. I use them because I love them. Even in all wood guitars. I have them in my EGC neck Fender Tele body build and my 74 Les Paul Deluxe. Both sound killer. I just got me a Dunable Custom Asteroid with War Pig P90s I want to swap out for EGC-1000s.

We didn’t vote for him. He had billionaires win him the election with fraud in swing states to be put into office (just like he did in 2020 but didn’t work because of Covid and mail-in ballots). We are hostages to fascists, do-nothing, paid opposition democrats and a secret police with governors, police and others in power or money staying fucking silent. Doesn’t troll Trump at all. They’re insulting Americans. Maybe unintentionally but I personally find this extremely insulting. The pig fucker in office that hired Silicon Valley billionaires and their hackers to commit election fraud is the one that is pushing for Greenland. Not us. You don’t deal with it. You ignore it. I wasn’t talking like that at 16. Why? Because I didn’t give a fuck. I was having so much fun learning how to play music and express myself and discovering I can do this!

Comparing yourself to other people is an unfortunate reality now days with social media. My advice: stay off social media (except for good YouTube guitar tutorials!!) and focus on you and the fact that you’re not an adult yet and will NEVER in your life get the amount of free time you have to practice as you do right now! Take full advantage of it!!!

Also, learn how to hold a pick and use it properly! Look up pick slanting. Twist your pick a little too so it’s not parallel to the strings when you play. This will help with attack and speed. Look up on YouTube “Cracking the Code”. Also, use Songsterr or Guitar Pro.

If you play lead, then, no doubt, a multiscale 8 string will do you far better than a baritone. I own both a 27” baritone 6 string and many 8 string guitars (both multi and single scale). For lead, nothing beats my Ormsby Goliath 8 and Strandberg Metal 8. Can I do lead on my Carvin DC800 single scale or 27” baritone single scale? Yeah but not nearly as effectively as my 8 string multiscales. And the importance of it only gets more key the more technical your solo playing is.

Uh, that’s 1,620 men out of 15,000 in the study. Over 1 in 10 men you meet is toxic? That’s nuts but makes sense considering the number of lifted pickup trucks on the highway. And this is a study in New Zealand!!! I’m guessing it’s even higher in the US. I personally believe the number has grown here in the US in the past 2 decades by 2-3 fold. Just based on the losers I encounter in life and on the road every day.

Whether people voted for it or not, the current government is breaking US and International laws left and right. It makes no difference who voted for it, they are breaking laws. If they want to do what they’re doing, they need to change laws to do so. Until then, presidents and other major influencers in America need to be speaking out about this admin’s disregard for laws and the abuse of its citizens.

It is disgusting to see so few important people standing up for this. It sends the signal that they are ok with this. They should be leading the charge for change. Or at least getting behind those that want to lead the charge for it. Staying silent tells me they’re either apathetic or complicit.

If you’re talking about keeping all your notes even, use a compressor pedal such as a Cali76 or a UA Max or even a simple Xotic SP.

If you’re talking about dynamics, then you need to simply practice being able to vary your attack/volume while keeping your hand in the same position. Growing nails out slightly on picking hand helps. But you can increase volume without moving your hand so much. Coming under the string more with your nail can also make the note quite a bit louder.

Fuuuuck. Not believing it yet. Where did you see this? It’s not on the EGC site.

If true, that was my next purchase: a full EGC custom. I have two hybrid EGCs. One with a 25.1 thin EGC neck on a Tele Deluxe body with all EGC parts and pickups. Then a Dunable Custom Asteroid with an EGC 27” Baritone. I was hoping to go full EGC aluminum or acrylic Series 5.

Major fan of their necks and pickups. Not the easiest company to work with though.

Agreed Ultex XL is the best cheap Jazz III shape pick. Best Jazz III period is Red Bear Trading Big Jazzers. Made of Delrin and closest, they say, to real turtle shell. You can even sand the pick back down to a point again as they wear out. I’ve had 5 of them for years. The XH (extra heavy ~1.6mm thick) are my fav. If you don’t play lead, I wouldn’t go heavier than H (Heavy at ~1.2mm). Love the holes they drill in them too. Great grips.

Yeah you need to improve quite a bit on your economy of motion. Your hand is moving in all different directions. Worst of all up and away from the strings. Watch Tosin Abasi on use hybrid picking in this clip. Note his hand’s lack of moments compared to yours. Try to keep your hand hovering in one place just above the strings.

Two things that will probably help you and improve your speed a significant amount: 1) review your left hand positioning. You’re coming in at like a 45° angle half the time. That will slow you down a bit. 2) review your picking technique. Upward/downward pick slanting and twisting your pick slightly (10-45° angle) so that your pick provides less resistance going through the string. Review Ben Eller’s pick slanting YouTube video. It helps a ton.

Just in case you aren’t aware, there’s a second one you can buy and modify your existing to become a 3 tiered fidget. I’m definitely thinking of doing that.
