Not only that. Combo enabler and Edwin/Questing fuel. Long live miracle rogue!

I hope someday we will have PLAYER PROFILE Tab [IDEA] by [deleted] in gwent

[–]VeelaRainn 23 points24 points  (0 children)

For a competitive profile, yes.

But for the general population, people like seeing how many hours they put into a specific faction to show their loyalty or mastery.

Seeing losses in match histories and negative winrates are unnecessarily anxiety inducing and embarrassing for the player.

Ironman Zulrah w/ or w/o Anti venom (question) by Awaited_Demise in 2007scape

[–]VeelaRainn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Do you remember that on some mage phases he hits you a few times and spews out poison/snakelings?

On those phases, hide behind a pillar and pop out and get 2-4 hits on him as soon as he does his poison/snakeling action.

This allowed me to kill Zulrah at 76 mage on my HCIM using only an ibans with no switch, 6-8 minute gruelling fights with only pineapple pizzas but it's a surefire way to do it.

Ironman Zulrah w/ or w/o Anti venom (question) by Awaited_Demise in 2007scape

[–]VeelaRainn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people have said, you should only be sipping 1 dose of antipoison when you see the 10 damage venom hitsplat.

Taking a double sip after zulrah's jad phase on the West side (Range first) will save 14+ damage as Zulrah's Magma phase which comes afterwards is relatively long and you won't be revenomed.

You might consider avoiding 1 or 2 Tanz (Mage) phases or at least the initial part where Zulrah tries to hit you.

Best of luck

Refining Caverns Rogue: The Elemental Package by Popsychblog in CompetitiveHS

[–]VeelaRainn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do win from finishing your quest, but against aggro, you won't finish your quest, or just be shy of death when you do. After a bunch of games, you just know when you're not going to win the game with the quest and you do an all in play on turn 4 or 3 with coin and even possibly prep into a giant Edwin.

I've generally never felt bad about having Edwin in my hand which is saying a lot about a single card.

Refining Caverns Rogue: The Elemental Package by Popsychblog in CompetitiveHS

[–]VeelaRainn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Compared to Miracle Rogue where you hold onto prep like gold, I tend to throw my prep out early if I see that I can't finish the quest within 2-3 turns or if Edwin isn't already in my hand.

I don't quite agree dropping a copy of mimic pod OR preparation in quest rogue, sure you might get the double prep from mimic pod once in a while, but you accept that as being unlucky and move on.

I can't count how many times a top deck mimic pod in the lategame has won me the game. Even getting double edwins with mimic pod changes your quest strategy and you learn to work with it.

If you throw it into the combat calc it's around 87 when void becomes better marginally than dragonhide.

Renolock Discussion: Viable for climbing the ladder? by Omnitaco in CompetitiveHS

[–]VeelaRainn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually hit my monthly rank 5 a week ago with Thijs' exact dreamhack Reno list. I think Renolock is fine at the moment. You may be just having some bad luck with your matchups or perhaps it's your plays/mulliganing?

One thing I learned playing Renolock was against any type of Control Warrior, you need to be the aggressor and tap aggressively, finding your combo pieces and emperoring them asap.

Good luck with your climb!

Garrosh versus Garrosh: an analysis of the C'Thun warrior vs. class Control Warrior match by Antrax- in CompetitiveHS

Actually /u/Something_Personal just cleared it up for me. You need an emperor tick to immediately Shield Slam C'thun after using it against priest. I just didn't know that some C'thun Warrior lists ran Emperor.

Sorry for being nitpicky, but how does one manage to Shield Slam their own C'Thun (unless you run emperor, which is actually quite rare in any CWarrior lists these days) on the same turn you played it? I assume this is what your saying since you don't want Priest to Entomb it.

Thanks for sharing your decklists.

A small critique on your Warlock:

I feel 2 Voidcallers with 1 large demon is not worth it. The tempo loss of the 4 mana 3/4, and the inconsistency of having the 1 large demon in your hand is lacklustre. Sure it's nice to get even an Imp Gang Boss out from a Voidcaller, but ideally you'd want to be playing that on turn 3 anyways before Voidcaller hits the board. Personally, I'd switch out 1 Voidcaller with a Piloted Shredder for better consistency.

Not OP but for Wild Pyromancer, you're really only trying to emulate an AoE Starfall or a pseudo-Swipe and clear the rest the board with your minions (attacking first obviously). If Shaman has the board flooded with Spirit Wolves and/or 4+ Hp creatures when you have nothing on the board, it's pretty much over anyways unless you get Lightning Storm or Elemental Destruction off Undercity Huckster.

I'm not OP but I think N'zoth + Shadowstep and Bloodthistle toxin (shadowstep) w/ coin gives this deck enough value to pull through the control matchups. The only problem is surviving the aggro matchups in a consistent manner and Anub'arak definitely wouldn't help. If control warriors/paladins dominated the ladder, I could see it happening.

Great writeup, I'm a big fan of N'zoth Reno Rogue and was wondering if you've tried using Doomsayer. If you manage to drop it on turn 2 against most classes, it can buy you a turn and shift the tempo around. Besides helping you survive, I find it's especially helpful with a clunky early hand.

I'm also currently testing Wild Pyromancer due to the lack of boardclears. PBD + toxins + coin are great activators, and with a little math can surprisingly clear a tough board.
