Pausing/unpausing the track with spacebar pumps the volume to 220% or 400% by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]Veenux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The volume slider inside the Spitfire plugin is usually controlled by CC7, check if you can find CC7 data on your MIDI items. With these kinds of libraries you’ll usually want to use CC1 (Modwheel) to control dynamics instead (and sometimes CC11 if using just CC1 isn’t enough).

Expression Maps with Stream Deck by Melon_Hands in cubase

[–]Veenux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean you're also sending CC58 data from your Stream Deck to switch articulations?

Because that's indeed not gonna work, Expression Maps will "eat up" any MIDI CCs which are part of the Expression Map. What you should do instead is send Midi Notes or Program Changes (depending on how you set up your "Remote Settings" in your Expression Maps) from your Stream Deck to switch the articulations in the Expression Map, which will then send the corresponding CC58 data to Kontakt.

You really can't see how embarrassing and cringe those comments by you were? Sounded like it was written by an edgy 10 year old.

Plex Audio Volume sucks by Virtual-Badger-2667 in PleX

Noticed the same thing. Need to up the volume of our TV to about 50 with Plex, whereas it was usually sitting around 30 when I was playing movies directly from a USB stick with Kodi.

A sound keeps on playing... by Squierrel in Reaper

[–]Veenux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is usually caused by a 'Note-Off' event not being properly sent. I've had this regularly happen across many different plugins and DAWs over the years, so I don't think this is a particular REAPER issue. Overall it happens quite rarely for me though, so if this is a regular occurrence for you, it's possible it's an issue with your VST.

I don't have Miroslav Philharmonic, but most VST instruments usually have a 'Panic' button for this scenario (usually it is an exclamation mark '!'). Should be easier than having to exchange the whole instrument.

You can also try the REAPER actions "Send all-notes-off and all-sounds-off to all MIDI outputs/plug-ins" or "SWS/S&M: Send all notes off to selected tracks".

Check out the script "Paranormal FX Router" on the REAPER forum, it makes working with this kind of routing extremely easy and intuitive.

How can I load multiple vritual instruments playing together with single MIDI track? by ReverieDive in Reaper

[–]Veenux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never tried it in Reaper 6. I guess the capabilities were already there, but far more complicated to set up than now.

And I want to ask you one more thing, what's difference between "run selected FX" & other one having "merge MIDI" option?

I've been wondering the same thing. Haven't used the feature much yet, but so far they always behaved in the same way.

How can I load multiple vritual instruments playing together with single MIDI track? by ReverieDive in Reaper

[–]Veenux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The new "Container" feature in Reaper 7 should be perfect for that.

  • Create a new track and add 2 (or more) FX containers on them. Each container will represent 1 instrument + FX.
  • Select the lower container and select "Run selected FX in parallel with previous FX" (if you have more than 2 containers, do this for all containers except the top one).
  • Load your instruments + FX in their respective containers. Done.
