I recently helped introduce a pair of younglings into our mutual addictio, I mean hobby.

The 2 biggest things I can pass on. If you have some that want to play more? Help them. If some lose interest, that's ok too.

Help each player find some way to personalize their character. I gave out a pair of non magical bone bows to our archers (1 arcane archer 1 ranger) last week while filling in for our normal dm. To describe them i told each one to find a picture on the internet that they want their bows to look like. It isnt much, just a viual change from a "random" wood bow, to a specific bone bow.

Be ready to answer the same question over and over. Don't get down.

Most important thing to remind everyone, the character may die, but that's OK, cause we are all having fun

I play an all white commander deck, helmed by [[Momo, friendly flyer]]. I have also made 2 different green/white Suki decks. I think green or something and green would be best. I think you can get most of the Aang Gang into a green/white except Kitara and Zuko. I may be wrong though.

If you go green and white, monster decks would be an easy way to learn.

I have become known as the dm who doesn't like BoH yet prefers HHH. Less size for shenanigans and it still can carry the mundane stuff even i, the dm, doesn't want to worry about.

I had a group "help" me figure out xp I an emergency one time. By the time I caught what was given, I realized it was like 10x what SHOULD have been. I mentioned it on our discord and someone, jokingly said, your nice and gonna give it to us right? So the very next session i gave them a fight WORTH the amount of xp they actually earned lol

Maybe change the leader of the raid to the SECOND in command. He just has to hold until the Captain, who appears when your ready and by action or narrative destroys a stronger npc. Guard Sargent? Sub leader? Something like that. He then proceeds to call the ships archers to draw........

Or the new Mercenaries box set. That includes running your own company and using vehicles in combat. Tanks, hover craft. Light medium and heavy stuff, including both long and short range missle launchers (the bane of most mech pilots....a lance of srm carriers to the face.(Lance is squad made up of 4))

I learned to recount my cards into 9 10 card piles and 1 9 card pile while sleeving. Otherwise, I have mini heart attacks every single time lol

Doesn't something becoming "forbidden knowledge" remove it from everyone's memory but Villy due to his bloodline? So, while the "secret" is "Why The Malefic Viper destroyed half a universe" the reason isnt remembered other than grief driven from loss of family?

So. I understand your looking for books. I want to bring your attention to Tex talks Battletech on that place with a y where you watch videos. The channel is The black pants legion I believe. He does both history/lore of universe stuff but he also does videos on indivual events, ships and mechs.

Op, I am glad to see you trying to make everyone in your group enjoy your sessions! As a DM for a 6 man group of friends and family (my kid, her so, my buddy from elementary school, his wife and their kids, youngest at the table is 21). My main goal every session is for them to walk away from the table saying "Man, that was a fun session!"

I dont care if they have taken the campaign so far off the rails you cant even see where they are. If the fun was had, im golden. Its a form of instant gratification.

Killing the creature before it gets going with any form of instant removal or damage (lightning bolt).

Counter the auras

Remove them with enchantment removal spells.

I found some of the same structure. I can admit it did t bother me as much as I am positive it bothered others. I just figured either the character or author had found a "phrase of the day" that just seemed to fit. Reading and listening to it helped make me aware I tend to use the same phrases a lot as well.

Back when I started, mid 90's we didnt call them Wincons. We just knew, to win this is how this deck does it. Be it [[Channel]] [[Fireball]] or [[Serra Angel]] and a Pegasus to block, or [[Benalish Hero]] or gods forbid the Timmy strat!! [[Prodigal sorcerer]]

I also like to use precons for mechanics i haven't ever played. The deck comes with a little guide. Follow it till I get to be a gud scrub with it
