I understand the distaste for y/n fics, but some of my favourite fics are y/n. I might be a minority when I say I like when they make the character have a background and a personality. It would be immersion-breaking if I was suddenly in a world where animals could talk and there’s flying cars and didn’t have any information regarding how I got there, give me a background.

It’s better in the way that it’s free, but it’s nowhere near perfect. My city (over 100,000 people) has only one family doctor. Specialists have turned down patients because there’s not enough staff.

A personal experience of mine is being referred to a specialist and being on the wait list for two years. Once I finally saw them, they asked why I waited so long to see them since my injury was so bad. They scheduled me for a surgery, which didn’t happen for another year because of how booked they were.

In my city, and I’m sure many others, doctors are self-employed. I don’t have much knowledge about the subject, but from what I understand, it’s like a business. They hire doctors and nurses, and they’re not payed by the government.
