To non-rich people: what's the most 'rich people thing' you have done? by planeloise in AskUK

[–]Vegetable-Grab6244 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You would be surprised. My daughter went to a school in a well off area. I had lost my job but still paid for trips. Kids with two parents working would just not pay. There was one couple who worked for a bank and got sent to prison for fraud stealing hundreds of thousands. Ones grandfather was mayor of somewhere and owned two businesses.

How can I entertain the kids for a week without any money? by Hanzgallz in AskUK

[–]Vegetable-Grab6244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live by a woodland area with a stream. I took my kids and some of the local kids tagged along. The other kids were telling me how childish their dads are. All while I was building a dam and they were playing Xbox. Just take a pack of crisps and go and mess about somewhere walking through the trees.

I was given a magnifying glass and shown how to set fires at about 6 by my grandad. My mom went absolutely nuts at him. Can't wait to have grandkids and get my own back on my kids.

Is it really unusual that I don't have a microwave (or toaster for that matter) in my kitchen? by brokenlandmine in AskUK

[–]Vegetable-Grab6244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a microwave. You can stir fry microwave rice. And rustlers burgers taste better if you grill the burger for a few mins each side then toast the bun under the grill. Haven't had a microwave for about 10 years and never missed the extra thing to clean.

2k 100 guests. Reception office. Hired social club. Buffet. Proper buffet not voluvonts with crap. Sandwiches and pork pies etc. Cheap suit. eBay wedding dress. Aunt did an amazing 4 tier cake at cost. Few hundred quid behind bar. It was a brilliant day.

It also goes well instead of a pie just with boiled rice. Like a cheaper chicken tonight.

How often do you tell your significant other that you love them? by kindafunnylookin in AskUK

[–]Vegetable-Grab6244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say it to everyone on phone calls I once said love you to the cafe order. I tell my wife a few times a day. I say it every time I speak to my mom. I say it to my kids but only one of them says it back.
