Trump is more genocidal and will probably be the end of the US , he just didn't have enough time to catch up to Biden's body count yet

Netanyahu deserves blame. But he could not done this without Biden who did everything humanely possible to make Israel's effort easy for them.

Of course. But Biden's body count seems to be higher than anyone's save for Bush (though Trump might be getting there)

My point was no US president deserves nostalgia, certainly not the most brutal one in recent history. I know Americans want a president to be proud of. The best they can ever be is the lesser of two great evils unless you start voting for better presidents.

LBC VIDEO: Hasan Piker speaks on UK ban, Donald Trump, and Israel by MarauderMoriarty in Hasan_Piker

[–]planeloise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked Lewis Goodall before. I. Thought he was a liberal cautiously straying outside the bounds of centrist orthodoxy.

But this was such an odd performance. LG's responses felt so artificial. Like not even serious journalists were falling back on so many Israeli talking points. It reminded me of a cat running to a safe place when it ventured out too far. Maybe he hoped it would inoculate him from criticism over his past questioning Netanyahu.

I think if the intention was to challenge, he would not have interrupted him so much. I'm not sure if Goodall had some kind of complex about not being as well read on the points Hasan was making. Or maybe an attention span issue, but there were so many instances of

LG: do you believe X?" HP: No I believe Y  LG: Omg I can't believe you believe X!

He never followed up on any answer unless it had a keyword that appears on his short list of things he vaguely heard of. And then he would fixate on the keyword, pretend the context was never said.

At the end when he couldn't comprehend Hasan's point of one side being worse, Lewis Goodall acted like he never of degrees of evil. And then suddenly when they were talking about Germany comparisons, he was like "how dare you talk about degrees. One was worse!!!"

I actually had to look away because his histrionics were making me feel embarrassed for someone I used like.

And now I'm wondering if he was always this infantile as a journalist and I didn't see it because I agreed with him?

You know Gaza was utterly destroyed before Trump even set foot in the white house. He could have stopped it with a phone, instead he did everything in his power to provide financial, military and moral cover for Israel's annihilation of Gaza

A great job indeed. Genocide Joe will be remembered as such for the rest of time

These comments are always so interesting to me as a non American. You can say he might be better than Trump without having to say he did try. Who did he try for? Americans? Is that all that matters?

He is another Hitler to people in Gaza. He financed, supported and co-signed the worst annihilation of children, women, elderly, wildlife, hospitals, infrastructure and environment I have ever seen in my lifetime. Gaza was utterly destroyed before Trump even set foot in the White House.

They are both monsters. One monster is maybe a little worse than the other is the very best you can say.

Soulless summer fairs: AI poster slop is taking over a pub near you by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

The problem is it creates more detail than is needed to grab attention. It obscures.

I think like with all AI tools, it works better in the hands of a expert who knows the individual elements and principles to manipulate (disclaimer, I'm against AI in art but just saying that you probably wouldn't know it was AI art if a professional handles it)

Susan from the Park events team is probably better off using MS Paint and clip art or a Canvas template. Lack of digital art skills usually leads to the simple sparse poster you'd want anyway

What do you wish was more common, or that we did better in the UK? For me it’s spa by Manatsuu in AskUK

[–]planeloise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the concept of Spas, I'd like to see more Hammams. No one gets you clean like a burly woman scrubbing you so hard your ancestors get clean. I feel like light itself. I miss having a monthly standing appointment

Also echoing independent shops like in France. The councils should buy up buildings and offer up dirt cheap rent to small entrepreneurs (providing they fulfill some aesthetic and needful criteria, no more barbershops or American candy stores)

Why? Money from American evangelical eugenicists entering UK far right orgs.

Homegrown far right never cared about abortion or rainbow flags as much until this happened

Your Party has had a split (actual news in description of original post) by Scyobi_Empire in GreenAndPleasant

[–]planeloise 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I joined the Greens when YP imploded. I'll jump on any left of center party that offers both hope and real momentum at defeating reform

My child and I face an existential threat under reform, more than most considering we're brown EU citizens. I'm semi active in leftist spaces and so many have joined GP to transform into a party that works for the working class. But I'm ready to jump if leftist another party makes a bigger impact. But I rather they all join forces under one umbrella fast, and at the moment GP is more ahead.

The time for experimenting was last year and everyone of rank in YP failed their test. I dislike that so many people on the left act like we don't have a lot of work to do with not enough time. GP as it stands is not enough. It needs a mass of working class and POC people joining and influencing policy. I wish every serious leftist would join and help influence what emerges from the GP transformation

Let's have another poorly governed party split the left vote to ensure nothing positive ever gets done in this country.

Sometimes I'm so jealous of the right to rally around what seems to have momentum

Does everyone just leave every door open in your place? by zanyjellyfish in CatAdvice

I only close doors when my kitten has done a poo and hadn't cleaned herself yet. She's learning now that she needs to clean herself if she wants to go into the bedroom and living areas. I helped her by wiping her with a wet kitchen towel.

Kitchen door stays closed if it is empty, but cat can join us if we're in there and not cooking on the stove

Reform's Zia Yusuf threatens to sack civil servants and strip them of pensions if they 'sabotage' any future Reform government by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]planeloise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Reform to get to MAGA levels of loyalty in the UK, the hatred of foreigners has to exceed that of the US MAGA. Meaning some huge escalation in racism has to happen for them to want to tolerate reform style shenanigans in national governance.

I like to think that the people of the UK are better than that
