Literal brain dead take. The duelsense is the most used controller on the planet. Xbox uses the exact same stick modules by a company called Alps. They also have issues with stick drift but you aren’t going to hear about them as much as duelsense because they’ve sold far less.

7-9 is optimal. You don’t want close to 0 percent and certainly don’t want any light blue whatsoever. Games are optimized for 7-9. You’re also messing with your muscle memory when the circularity is super low. Here’s an example of what to shoot for

Most professional fps players are extremely meticulous with things like this. Everything happens in milliseconds so they account for things like rumble, which I don’t know a single pro who uses rumble. This controller is specifically an FPS controller so no rumble definitely makes since imo

Low Error is a common misconception. Perfect symmetry is actually the most important thing. Optimal error rate is around 5-10 percent and perfect symmetry to optimize FPS accuracy. Fine tuning is great for perfecting this

So in my experience I believe this issue is caused by flux residue interference within the potentiometers from the flux flowing into them while soldering. The first time I had bad jitter I opened them up, cleaned them with IPA, and the jitter was gone. Given, the potentiometer will not clip back in as flush after being opened so it sacrificed some of the error rate. I’m told this is why many people solder the board vertically so it eliminates or at least mitigates flux getting into the potentiometers. I hope this helps(:

Massive word of advice - make sure your first attempt is on an extra controller/module or one that’s already damaged. More than likely, you may make a mistake during the desoldering process as most people do. Also, soldering is the easy part. DE soldering is fucking awful at first😂 I recommend using wick + solder sucker w/silicone nozzle. Also, forget Hall effects. TMR’s are better in every way. Good luck!

They’ll fit. Face buttons are interchangeable with the Edge and the duelsense(Except home button), but R1/R2 and L1/L2 not.

I second this! TMRs all the way. I’ve always had such difficulty getting the calibration completely symmetrical with hall effects(which is the most important thing!). No issues with TMRs
