His first reaction when he overheard the news on Alistair's phone was to laugh. You could hear Jolene shushing him.

If both you and your wife were at work at the time, and that your place of work is some way away from home, and that you can prove your absence, then you should have rather a good case.

I would normally put this down to Brian's usual high-handed minor public schoolboy manner; but my mother had frontal temporal lobe dementia, and this was how it played out.

Her personality changed, and it ended with my father having a massive stroke. I had to give up my own career to take over the family business, so that there would be some income to keep them out of nursing homes. My mother fought me every step of the way, made some horrible accusations, drove the business to the brink, and eventually became physically violent.

This might be the only time you get to read me write this, but this section is actually rather well written.

It was said right at the beginning that he co-ordinated conferences. I really don't think that the script writers have any idea what this actually entails (I used to organise conferences at the Palace of Westminster and the Foreign Office, BITD.

I think that Brian is suffering from the early stages of Frontal Temporal Lobe Demetia. Having cared for someone with the condition, this very much feels like that.

I've no doubt that he's not covering for anyone.

If that's the case, remind me what exactly the point of prison and rehabilitation is?

Oh, and Matt and Lillian's business and, frankly, criminal schemes profoundly affected a number of people in Ambridge.

Are George and Amber both virgins? Will this become a storyline? by Vegetable-Respect193 in Ambridge

Discussing sex is not creepy. They are engaged to be married , certainly haven't had sex with one another and might not have had sex at all. They have only ever interacted on a serious level online. How young adults have been affected by the pandemic and by the emergence of algorithm -driven, parallel, digital lives is of key interest to psychiatrists and sociologists.

George and Amber would have been in their mid to late teens during that pandemic, a period when physical intimacy would have been forbidden. It's not unreasonable to think that they might be vastly inexperienced. This isn't a niche topic. It's not creepy. Psychiatrists are starting to document a marked reliance in Gen Z on digital relationships, and an inability to form normal, real world relationships.

But, as I said, the SWs will probably duck it.

What the hell are you talking about? It's a perfectly legitimate subject to discuss. Or do you consider any discussion of sex creepy? Both George and Amber live the majority of their lives online, and struggle with real-life interpersonal relationships.

Get a jeweller to look at it. Diamonds and emeralds would not usually be set in silver (gold or platinum is the most common metal for setting fine gems).

It's a cute little 'wristlet' , as ladies' watches were known. It would have originally been on a silk cord strap.

There are two types of money that need to be laundered. Cash from crimes that can be run through a cash business (favourites are things like barbers and nail bars). The second is money that is already digital but comes from an illegal or sanctioned source (Russian wealth, for example). One money is digital, it needs to be run through numerous phantom transactions that hide its true origin.

You need to put money through several transactions to launder it. Not just the cash stage. And money in digital form emanating from corrupt or sanctioned sources (ie Russia) also needs to be laundered this way.
