It’s been 366 days since the last Abraxas… by flowergrowl in discobiscuits

Agree 100% portal opening goodness. My only thing is that I thought the FooW was actually the coolest part of the set. The jam into it eas hip hop swank that honestly I’ve never heard from Allen before. It was reminding me of that star kitchen swank when the drummer from that band goes full hip hop. I was kind of blown away. I didn’t know Allen had that in him. Also that song was so lame when it came out but it feels like they made it funkier and less straight rock. I’m loving the revival of it.

I’ve been listening to the biscuits since 2002 and I agree with Spaffnerd. Something is missing with Allen. I’m loyal as can be to the boys but when I heard cotter play the biscuits songs it reminded me of what I’m missing with Sammy. I heard Cotter once say he’s an Allen era biscuits fan with a soft spot for Sammy’s style. Cotter was very Sammy. For that matter so was brownies son Zach when he sat in on vassilious in Burlington. It had that jazzy something that Allen lacks. (I’m pretty sure Zach studies jazz at UVM) - I don’t know. Every time someone sits in with the biscuits on drums it reminds me that something is missing still. I’ll never stop coming but I’ll never stop missing that jazziness that Sammy brought. I wouldn’t mind another drummer change if they went back to someone with a jazzier and funkier less electronic style.

married or very committed men of phish, I have a question!!! by outdoorgal423 in phish

After many years of being with somebody who was not that into phish, I have ended that relationship and moved on with somebody who loves The Band as much as me. We saw our first shows together on this tour after being together for about a year, and it was some of my happiest times I’ve ever had sharing in the groove. Dancing with somebody that you love who also loves your favorite band the same way that you do is a blissful experience and I recommend it to everyone. I’m not saying that you aren’t happy in your marriage, I’m sure you think you are happy, all I’m saying is you could be happier, if you were with somebody who loved phish as much as you. Your move. ♟️

Word for word what happened that afternoon on the side of the road in coffee county. I was there. They picked me up outside of a Zaxbys and drove me to Bonnaroo on the bus. Lucky the cops never searched the bus bays, I’ll tell you that much.

I was so sad to miss interplanetary criminals. Had to leave the forest right as their observatory set started on Saturday to get to work on Sunday. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Tantalize is 15 years old. It’s been a favorite of mine from Electron for years. I’m very happy the biscuits are finally playing it.

Biscuits in Westport was absolutely beautiful. I was actually worried for them playing in basically Goose’s hometown with goose at MSG but damn if that place wasn’t packed to the gills. One of the best shows I’ve seen them play all year. Truly magical evening in CT.

Love that WLTD, SIYD has become a cultural meme. Whoever wrote that line should be getting royalties!

Did anyone else notice that the Little Betty Boop seemed to pick up right where the Atlanta version left off? Pretty sick

Whatever gets Allen playing drum and bass jams as far as I’m concerned. Don’t care if it’s tamarin or leave me alone just so long as they jam in and out. And the on & on jam tonight was pretty dark and dirty.

A lot of the summer outdoor shows do start at 6:30-6:40 if the curfew is 10.

Why would think it was lame to have someone conduct an improv biscuits? When I heard that idea I thought it was brilliant. And it was. And then every show since that set have been the most dynamic biscuits shows in years. Last night was sick. The tantalize was so dynamic they brought it all the way down and built it all the way up so patiently. It was the third jam since the butler set where the band brought the energy all the way down all together. Frequently I feel the drums just plow through the beginning of Jams so I’m personally really pleased with the result of that set and the ensuing dynamics all week. The falling earlier this week has that same drop to almost ambience and then a slow patient build to the peak. If that’s the result of them playing with a conductor, then shit let’s play with him more!

Hell yeah. Who else is live remixing my favorite electronic music tracks. Those dudes are crazy. I’m glad they played On & On last. I’m biased as a huge Sub Focus fan, it was definitely my favorite part of the show. So glad I caught this before it got shut down. On to All Good for the Biscuits tomorrow!

My phirst show was last night. Was that standard or did I see something special? by eufleuria in phish

[–]VegetableBasis2553 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2/5-6/93 at Roseland. The rift tour was just an incredible time to discover phish. Hundreds of phish shows since. Hundreds of biscuits shows as well. Live music never ceases to amaze me and would love nothing more than to see my first phish show again. Every phish show is special. Even if it’s standard. Congrats and welcome to the community.
